Early the next morning, Lily went to the airport with her luggage in hand. Because the flight was too early, Lily kept yawning from her lack of sleep. Not long after arriving at the airport, the announcer started calling the passengers for her flight to board the plane. Samson had booked a business–class seat for her.
Lily went in first, so the seat beside her was still noccupied. After she put her luggage and sat down. Lily yawned a few more times. More passengers came in after her, but there weren’t a lot of people on the flight. She looked around her before settling into a comfortable position. Then, she
put on her sleep mask and took a nap
Because she didn’t sleep much last night, Lily drifted to sleep almost immediately after she closed her eyes. She didn’t realize that someone had come to sit beside her later, nor did she care. Lily only woke up when a stewardess approached and gently nudged her. “Excuse me, miss. Do you need anything to drink?” the stewardess asked.
Lily pulled her sleep mask up and squinted. “Colh with ice, thank you.” After the stewardess. poured her drink, the passenger beside her took it for her. She took the cup over and sipped her drink before saying thank you to the passenger. “You’re welcome,” the person replied. Wait, that voice… It’s familiar. Too familiar. Lily paused for a moment, then, ever so slowly, she turned around to see who the passenger was. When she saw the person, her expression froze.
Robert stared at her for a few moments before turning back to Samson. Samson was covering his face he hadn’t been able to bring himself to look Robert directly in the eye ever since Robert found out that Lily was seated right beside him. Lily also shot a glance at Samson with her eyebrows raised. Samson turned his back on both of them and plugged in his carphones as he feigned ignorance.
“Samson booked this ticket for me.” Lily smacked her lips. “I didn’t know this would happen.”
Being the cold and distant man that he was, Robert simply grunted in response. This stopped Lily from asking the few questions that she had in mind. It was impossible for her to sleep at that point, so she took out her tablet to binge some dramas. It wasn’t like her to binge–watch dramas, though she downloaded some short ones to kill time. Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep her eyes on her tablet, for she started looking at Robert a few moments later.
Robert was approving some documents in his laptop, and he was wearing a pair of anti–glare glasses. Lily had never seen this side of him. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, and she secretly admitted to herself–Robert sure is a handsome guy. Well, all of the Taylor men are decent looking, but Robert is the hottest of them all. That was why she fell for him at first sight, for she was just like every other woman who cared about superficial things.
Lily knew where she stood. It was true that she had first fallen for Robert because of his looks, but that was no longer true after she got to know him. Yet, up until then, she didn’t entirely understand what else it was that made her feel attracted to him. Before they were divorced,

Lily would always grin whenever she saw or thought of him. I have never felt that way about any other guy, though. Then she quickly retracted her gaze and scolded herself in her heart. You’re divorced, so stop thinking about this. Regardless of how great he is, if he doesn’t love you, then there’s no point to this.
Lily put her tablet down and wore her sleeping mask again. Even if she couldn’t sleep, she didn’t want to see him. Soon after she leaned back against the seat with her arms crossed, she felt Robert unbuckling his seatbelt and leaving his seat. She pulled her sleeping mask up to glance in his direction once more. He probably went to the restroom, she thought. Then, she leaned back again.
A short while later, Lily felt someone nudging her elbow. At first, she pretended not to notice it. However, when her elbow was nudged again, Lily frowned. She took her sleeping mask off, only to find a stranger before her. He was dressed in a smart and neat outfit. “Hello.” He smiled at Lily.
“Do you need something from me?” Lily asked.
The man smiled sheepishly. “Nothing. I was bored sitting back there, and I noticed you. looked bored too, so I came to chat.” Lily frowned. I looked like I was sleeping. I’m not bored! Robert had returned by then, but when he noticed that someone was at his seat, he froze for
a moment.
He could see that the man was flirting with Lily, but judging by the dumb, flabbergasted look on her face, he knew that she hadn’t noticed his obvious flirting. Did she say she wanted to look for a fling in the bar? She’s not going accomplish much with that stupid brain of hers.
