“Cut the fake sympathy. Instead of pretending to care about me, why don’t you worry about your grades? Figure out how to make up for those missing credits before you flunk out this semester!”
Jennifer had no time to waste on these two–faced phonies.
The mention of missing credits finally
shut the sidekick up.
Seeing this, Sarah chimed in. “Don’t worry everyone. If we all work together from now on, we c definitely make up for those missing credits.”
She swore she wouldn’t lose to Jennifer
again.
After class, Jennifer headed straight to Vivian’s studio.
Vivian pulled out a design sketch. “After thinking it over all night, I’ve decided to change our main design to Jennifer’s concept!”
Jennifer’s heart raced when she saw her design in Vivian’s hands.

“Yes, I am!” Jennifer answered, gathering all her courage.
She had waited too long for this day and wouldn’t let a single opportunity slip through her fingers.
Sarah’s mood soured when she saw Jennifer accept the offer. “Jennifer, this isn’t child’s play. You’re still green, with zero experience under your belt.”
“Sure, I’m new, but everyone has to start somewhere. I may lack experience, but I can learn from everyone here. I won’t let Ms. Hoover down!”
