Chapter 155 The Tables Have Turned
Kelly’s cheeks flushed crimson. “I’m so sorry, Ms. Hoover. It won’t happen again, I promise.”
“There won’t be a next time. Once this show wraps up. I’m seriously considering new leadership for the studio. You’ve proven yourself unsuitable.”

Vivian had always been swamped with work. While she had known Kelly’s design skills were mediocre at best, she’d appreciated her resourcefulness and quick thinking.
But lately, she’d watched Kelly transform into something toxic, building her little empire of followers.
The final straw had been that calculated attempt to have Jennifer ruin the fabric, nearly derailing her major show.
She wouldn’t tolerate such petty sabotage in her studio
anymore.

“We’ll see how you handle this situation.”
Vivian dismissed Kelly with a wave, turning toward her
office. “Jennifer, a word?”
Jennifer followed Vivian inside.
Kelly stood outside, her face turning ashen as she observed them entering the office.
After graduation, Kelly had landed this cushy gig with decent pay and prestige. Now, it was slipping through her fingers.
Sarah leaned in, whispering with a hint of malice, “Kelly, do you think Ms. Hoover might favor Jennifer over you now?”
“No way in hell!” Kelly snarled. “That little nobody doesn’t deserve it!”
Her expression twisted into something ugly.
She mused silently, “Why did everything always circle

back to Jennifer? That woman was like a curse I couldn’t shake.”

As Sarah covertly studied Kelly’s face, a flicker of scorn crossed her gaze. Desperation could drive people to do just about anything.
Creating an adversary for Jennifer could indeed serve her interests well.
When Jennifer emerged from the office, she shared the good news with her colleagues. “Ms. Hoover loved our concepts. We’re getting the green light!”
“Really? I never had the courage to believe that before. Whenever I presented my own concepts, they were shot down.”
Curious, Jennifer asked, “Who denied it?”
The colleague’s gaze drifted towards Kelly. “Who else could it be? I’ve had this hunch all along that Ms. Hoover has got some kind of beef with her eyesight!”
“Me too,” another cut in. “I’ve always felt like I’m hitting a wall with my ideas. But you’ve been a real lifesaver, Jennifer.”

Chapter 155 The Tables Have Turned Jennifer smiled, “Oh, don’t say that. Actually, all the seniors here are pretty amazing. I’ve picked up so much just from working alongside you guys.”
Jennifer’s rapport with her colleagues had blossomed wonderfully.
Gradually, the studio began to morph, dividing like cells into two distinct nuclei: one gravitating towards Kelly and the other coalescing around Jennifer.
Kelly slammed her palm on the table. “Yeah, I’ve been slacking, but when I get serious, I can crush any amateur who thinks they’re hot stuff.”
Her expression turned livid. She would never allow Jennifer to taste success.
Jennifer smiled, “Game on, then.”
“Oh, please!” Kelly spat. “You’re still just the Hargreaves family reject and tried to steal credit for your brother’s song. How pathetic can you get?”
Kelly still harbored the memory of that incident, ready to wield it at any moment to belittle Jennifer.

Jennifer burst out laughing. “Sarah, where’d you find this clueless puppet? Didn’t you fill her in on the truth?”
Sarah’s face soured, her patience visibly fraying at the edges. “That’s enough. Can you just stop talking?”
“No!”
Jennifer stood up and advanced toward Sarah. “Yesterday you were on your knees begging. Short memory much?”
Sarah took several steps back.
From the sidelines, Kelly chimed in, “Sarah, what are you so afraid of?”
“I’m not!”
Sarah’s temper flared abruptly, her eyes blazing as she fixed her gaze on the foolish Kelly before her. “This is a Hargreaves family matter. We don’t need an outsider like you sticking your nose in.”
Kelly was taken aback, not having anticipated that

Sarah would have the audacity to raise her voice at her.
As Jennifer watched the unfolding drama, a burst of laughter escaped her lips. Sarah, who usually cloaked herself in the guise of innocence, could no longer keep up the charade, could she?
At that very instant, a colleague standing by Jennifer broke the silence. “Holy cow, Daniel Hargreaves, the celebrity singer, just came clean that his latest hit was penned by none other than his own sister, Jennifer. But he didn’t secure her copyright. Instead, he slapped Sarah’s name on it, causing all sorts of reputational havoc for Jennifer. Now, he’s out here making a public apology to her!”
Jennifer spun
around and grabbed her phone. Sure enough, there was a statement from Daniel.
She pondered, “In the end, it was Daniel who had to bow his head and apologize.”
She fixed her gaze on Sarah. “Looks like you’ve got quite the talent for playing the innocent. Daniel is ready to throw his career on the line just to shield you. It’s crystal clear that you’re the one who plagiarized my song, and he was none the wiser, yet he is trying to

“That’s ridiculous!” Sarah looked pale. “I didn’t steal anything! This has nothing to do with me!”
She would never own up to it!
