Chapter 173 Timothy Got Jealous
Jennifer was a bit curious. “What did he say?”
Timothy had left earlier without a word.
“Mr. Clark told us not to disturb you, so we didn’t dare go in,” Sharon replied.
Jennifer clicked her tongue, realizing Timothy had deliberately made her cook for herself.
She went straight to the bedroom. Timothy was leaning against the headboard, reading a book. The soft lighting made him appear much gentler.
She glanced at him and quickly looked away.
Just carlier, he had lost his temper with her and had the servants wait outside to watch her make a fool of herself.
He was horrible.
Ignoring him, Jennifer went to the bathroom to wash up.
It wasn’t like they had talked much these past few days anyway.
Only after the sound of running water came from the bathroom did Timothy glance toward it.

Later that night, Jennifer lay on her small sofa, trying to sleep. From the direction of the bed, she could hear him turning over.
Her mood grew more irritable.
She turned over, but his cold voice soon followed. “Stop moving. around.”
Annoyed, she replied, “Then you stop moving too.”
After that brief exchange, neither of them spoke again.
Jennifer drifted off to sleep. Timothy, however, lay staring at the ceiling.
Aside from his wealth, he was no match for a healthy man.
He shouldn’t be harboring such fantasies.
The next morning, Jennifer woke up intending to confront Timothy.
But he was nowhere to be seen.
After getting dressed, she went downstairs. While eating breakfast, she deliberately took her time, hoping to catch him coming out of the gym.
Sharon didn’t mention his whereabouts.

Unable to hold back, Jennifer asked, “Where is he?”

“Mr. Clark left early this morning. I think he had some business to attend to at the company,” Sharon answered.
It turned out to be work.
Jenifer barely ate a few bites of breakfast before grabbing her bag and heading to school.
But when she entered the classroom, she had the unsettling feeling that everyone was staring at her, whispering about something.
It was strange.
Sarah walked in with her group of sycophants.
A bandage was stuck to Sarah’s forehead. Seeing Jennifer, she smirked, “Jennifer, how could you do such a thing? The Clark family treats you so well, and yet you go fooling around with some random guy. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?”
Finally, Sarah had her chance.
She knew it. Jennifer wasn’t willing to be engaged to Timothy and was just using him.
No one would fall for a crippled man.
Jennifer snapped, “Watch your mouth, or I’ll sue you for slander.”

“Oh, stop pretending to be so innocent,” Sarah retorted. “Everyone knows about your affair with Jason now. The reporters even caught you two in the photo.”
Jennifer recalled last night’s awards ceremony.
There had indeed been reporters outside taking photos.
Jason had promised to take care of it.
But now, it had been exposed.

Taking out her phone, Jennifer opened the entertainment news. Sure enough, the top headline read: [The Crippled Tycoon’s Little Wife: Caught Red–Handed Cheating.]
The title was sensational.
She skimmed the article. It was filled with nonsense, but the photos were damning.
They showed her with Jason, her hiding behind him, and the two of them leaving in the same car.
The angles were calculated to make it seem like she was guilty and sneaking away with him.
Public opinion these days was like a weapon.
Setting down her phone, Jennifer realized this was going to be troublesome.

Sarah gloated, “Jennifer, with such clear evidence, how are you going to deny it now?”
Sadie chimed in, “Exactly. You were so lovey–dovey with Timothy, but it turns out you’re nothing but a two–timer. While deceiving that cripple, you’re out sleeping with another man. Impressive.”
Jennifer shot to her feet. “Watch your mouth! This is my final warning!”
“what? Are you going to hit me? You did these shameful things, and now you’re afraid of being called out for them?” taunted Sadie.
Jennifer walked straight up to her. “You can insult me all you want, but don’t you dare call Timothy a cripple!”
This mess was her fault, and she didn’t want him to be ridiculed because of her.
Sadie raised her voice. “But he is a cripple. Otherwise, why would you be so desperate to fool around?”
Jennifer grabbed her by the hair. “I told you to shut up. Didn’t you hear me?”
