Asher continued, “Jennifer, after all that you’ve said, are you expecting some kind of reward?”
“I don’t need your rewards. I just want to take back what I’ve given before,” Jennifer replied calmly.
Jennifer clearly realized that her brothers were biased in Sarah’s favor.
All she wanted now was to reclaim her kindness and distance herself from the Hargreaves family.
Sarah immediately added, “Jennifer, how can you say that? We’re family. When there’s trouble, we should help each other out.”
Jennifer shot Sarah a cold look. “Stop being so fake. It’s always been me who took the loss for you. What right do you have to speak like that?”
“When did I ever make you suffer, Jennifer? If you have any complaints, you can bring them up, and we’ll discuss them.”
Sarah refused to acknowledge anything.
Asher’s tone turned cold. “Jennifer, stop bringing up all these trivial matters. I came here today to deal with the mess you’ve created. What are you going to do about it?”

“That’s impossible. Forget about it. This is not something for you to decide.”

Jennifer gave him a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. “Asher, do you really think you can make decisions here? I’m Timothy’s fiancé. I’m the one with the most right to make this decision.”
Asher’s face changed with fury. “You dare!”
“Then go ahead, try it.”
“Jennifer, come back with me and calm down for a while. This matter is not for you to decide.”
Seeing the determined look in Jennifer’s eyes, Asher could tell she was fully capable of carrying through with her decision.
So, he decided that the best course of action was to take Jennifer back while he would go and negotiate with his family about how to handle the situation. After all, media attention only lasted a few days, and once the heat died down, no one would care about it anymore.
He believed once the storm passed, this crisis would be over.
Jennifer took a few steps back. “You can do whatever you want, but I’m not going back to Hargreaves Villa with you.”
“The Hargreaves Villa is your home. You should stay there.”

“But didn’t you give my room to Sarah? Where would I stay? Are you going to make me sleep in the maid’s quarters?”
Jennifer’s eyes were full of sarcasm.
Asher paused and turned to Sarah. “Is that true?”
He hadn’t really noticed this matter before.

Sarah’s face turned awkward. “Asher, when I moved into Jennifer’s room, it was because I got injured at her birthday party. Daniel said I needed to rest, so he asked Jennifer to let me stay in her room temporarily.”
Asher frowned. “Your injury is healed now, so it’s time for you to
move out.”
He did know about this situation, but he hadn’t realized that Sarah was still living in Jennifer’s room. This really wasn’t right.
Sarah’s expression immediately turned ugly.
She didn’t want to move out at all, but now, if she refused, it would create an issue.
With great reluctance, she said, “I understand. Once Jennifer returns, I’ll definitely move out.”
But deep down, she didn’t think Jennifer would return. After all, Jennifer was about to sever lies with the family.

Asher turned back to Jennifer. “Your room will be cleared for you. Are you satisfied now? You haven’t returned to Hargreaves Villa since the last time you left.”
Jennifer had never stayed away for such a long time, even when she was upset in the past.
Jennifer’s tone was cold. “I never cared about the room.”
“Then what do you care about? Do you really want to drive
Sarah out of our family? Don’t forget that Sarah has done a lot for the Hargreaves family. Her mother saved your life. You can’t be so heartless!”
Asher knew he had been a little biased toward Sarah in the past and that it had hurt Jennifer.
But he justified his favoritism, thinking he had good reasons for it.
Jennifer’s eyes reddened slightly. “But all these years, you’ve treated Sarah so well. I’ve done so much for her. I’ve even done her homework all these years. But what about my own life? My studies have been a mess. What do I owe her?”
“You owe her your life. If it weren’t for you, she wouldn’t have become an orphan,” Asher replied and immediately realized that his tone was harsher than intended.
Sarah, who had been listening, felt a bit pleased that Asher was standing up for her. She immediately began to feign tears. “Jennifer, after I became an orphan, I’m already so grateful to

Asher looked at Sarah’s “understanding” demeanor and felt a sense of satisfaction.
He thought, “Although Sarah sometimes schemes a little, at least she knows how to appreciate what’s been done for her. She’s much more sensible than Jennifer with her bad temper.”
He turned to Jennifer, his tone tinged with frustration. “I know you’ve been wronged, but it’s because I didn’t pay enough attention to you. This has nothing to do with Sarah.”
Jennifer smirked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “If it weren’t for Sarah, none of this would have happened.”
“Jennifer, look at what you’ve done. If it had been Sarah in your place, I would never have had to go out of my way to comfort her.”
