Chapter 58 Can’t Tolerate Any Longer
Timothy had always disliked getting involved in other people’s
business.
But when he heard what Daniel said at the hospital earlier, for the first time in his life, he actually couldn’t stop himself from standing up for Jennifer.
Jennifer gave a self–deprecating smile and responded, “You wouldn’t understand. I’ve explained myself countless times, confronted them over and over, but it never made any
difference. After a while, I just stopped talking because it felt like I was wasting my life. I only wanted to get away from them and live my own life again.”
It was different from when she stood up to Mary and Sandy at
the Clark Manor.
Timothy thought about the things Daniel had said earlier, and the incidents involving Daniel’s manipulation of models at school. It made him realize how mistreated Jennifer had been in the Hargreaves Villa.
He had never seen such biased and unfair treatment from family
members.
Timothy’s voice was firm, his gaze sharp. “From now on, you’re

my wife. You don’t need to give anyone, including the

Hargreaves family, any face! I can pull my investment right now, and the Hargreaves family will go bankrupt immediately!”
In Timothy’s eyes, the Hargreaves family meant nothing.
Jennifer froze for a moment, then looked carefully at Timothy, realizing that he was actually standing up for her.
A complicated feeling
stirred inside her.
After all, from what she knew, Timothy wasn’t the type of man to be so warmhearted.
Timothy, aware that she was studying him, felt a little uncomfortable.
He turned his head away and spoke in a stiff tone, “What are you looking at? Don’t get the wrong idea. It’s not because of you. If you let the Hargreaves family treat you like that, what would that say about the Clark family’s reputation?”
“I get it. It’s all just part of the act, to make it look more real,” Jennifer said, still aware of her situation.
“But I still want to say thank you. Actually, you’re not like the rumors say.”
“Rumors? What do they say about me?”
Timothy turned back to look at her. His gaze was still distant and cold, but his refined, handsome features made it impossible

Jennifer felt her heart skip a beat, her thoughts momentarily scattered.

She turned her face away quickly and said, “The rumors say you’re a moody, ruthless person. But I don’t think that’s true. I think you’re actually a good person.”
Timothy listened quietly, his gaze deep and unfathomable.
His voice was calm but firm as he replied, “You’re wrong. I’m not a good person.”
And honestly, he didn’t want to be one.
Jennifer didn’t respond but quietly watched him from the corner of her eye. She felt that Timothy had always been distant. and aloof. Even when he smiled, it was as if he wore a mask. She could never figure out his true self.
The car soon pulled up to King Villa.
After entering the hall, Jennifer went into a small room on the first floor and brought her books into the main living room.
She saw Timothy coming out of the gym and explained, “The light in the room isn’t great. Is it okay if I read in the living
room?”
Timothy glanced at her briefly and responded, “Go upstairs to the study.”
Chapter 58 Can’t Tolerate Any Longer Jennifer was a bit surprised.

She thought, “Wasn’t the study supposed to be a restricted. area?” In her past life, they’d emphasized to her time and again that she must never go near the study..
She hadn’t expected Timothy to tell her to go to the study. “Does this mean he trusted me a little?” she wondered.
Without hesitation, Jennifer grabbed her books and headed for the study.
The lighting in the study was indeed excellent, and the large desk was inviting.
She quite liked the space.
Jennifer started reviewing the project details for Vincent now that she was part of the team and had her own tasks to complete.
Outside, Timothy watched Jennifer walk into the study. Ryan approached him and said, “Mr. Clark, do you think it’s appropriate for Ms. Hargreaves to be in the study? There are many important documents in there related to work.”
Eric said, “Mr. Clark, Ms. Hargreaves‘ room is indeed small. Should we move her to another room?”
Timothy thought for a moment and replied, “Give her a bigger
room.”

Ryan immediately said, “I’ll have Ms. Hargreaves brought out right away.”
Timothy simply answered, “No need.”
With that, he turned and left.
Ryan, still concerned, couldn’t shake the feeling that Jennifer wasn’t trustworthy.
When Jennifer finished reading and was heading back to her room on the first floor, Ryan, with a neutral expression, told her, “Ms. Hargreaves, your room is now on the second floor.”
Jennifer was surprised.
She followed Ryan to the new room, which was much better than the small room on the first floor. The lighting was good, and there was a large desk.
“Ms. Hargreaves, Mr. Clark’s study is probably off–limits for you. If you need anything else in the room, feel free to let me know.”
“Okay, I understand,” Jennifer replied.
She quickly realized the reason for the room change.
It was to prevent her from going near the study anymore.
She felt a little disappointed but soon adjusted her thoughts. After all, the study housed many important documents. It was

probably for the best that she stayed away, just in case any mistakes were made. She wouldn’t be in a position to explain herself.

After washing up and lying down in bed, Jennifer received an unfamiliar email.
She opened it and saw a familiar name. It was an email from Daniel!
Daniel: [Hello, I’m Daniel. I really like the songs you’ve written, and I’d love to talk about potential collaboration.]
