Chapter 61 Something’s Definitely Off

Jennifer felt that since the dress she was wearing was the only one of its kind in the area and the latest design at that, there was no way Angelina could have made a mistake with her purchase.
If there was any issue with the dress she received, then she couldn’t believe Sarah had somehow managed to get her hands on an authentic one.
Moreover, after Sadie had been so quick to accuse Jennifer, Sarah hadn’t even tried to verify the authenticity of the dress. Instead, she kept brushing it off with statements like “let’s forget about it.”
This was completely out of character for Sarah.
These made Jennifer even more suspicious was Sarah’s odd behavior. By Jennifer’s estimation, Sarah was likely wearing a fake dress as well.
As soon as Jennifer voiced her thoughts, a hint of panic flashed in Sarah’s eyes.
Swallowing nervously, Sarah said, “Jennifer, I know you’re angry, but honestly, wearing a fake isn’t that big of a deal. The reason I’m wearing this dress is because Daniel specifically bought it for me, and he worked really hard to get it.”

Sadie chimed in, adding fuel to the fire. “Exactly! Can you even compare yourself to Sarah? Do you think because you’re wearing fake clothes, everyone else does too?”
Sarah turned to Vivian, a pitiful look on her face. “Since Jennifer is so dissatisfied, Ms. Hoover, for the sake of fairness, could you check the dress I’m wearing as well?”
But deep down, Sarah wasn’t sure either.
Vivian gave Sarah a brief glance before replying, “Sarah, I trust your integrity. No need to check.”
Vivian had observed Sarah’s usual behavior and didn’t believe
she would act like that.
She believed if Jennifer’s dress turned out to be fake, then the one Sarah was wearing had to be the real one.
The moment Sarah heard Vivian’s words, she let out a breath of
relief.
Quickly shifting the topic, she said, “Well, in that case, let’s get started with the class. I’m sorry for taking up your time with our little dispute.”
Jennifer returned to her seat, the sound of quiet whispers filling her ears. Most of them were mocking her.
Her mood wasn’t exactly great, but she still felt something was off about the whole situation. She didn’t believe for a second that

Angelina would send her fake clothes. Something must have gone wrong somewhere.

And now, it just so happened that Sarah had stumbled upon this opportunity.
After the class ended, Vivian said, “I’ve assigned you all a project. Please submit your design sketches by next week.”
Once the class was over, Jennifer went straight to the study. room, though Sarah and Sadie followed closely behind.
Sadie pulled out her phone and snapped several pictures of Jennifer, mocking her as she spoke. “I’m going to upload these to the forum. Let everyone see how the Hargreaves family’s young lady shamelessly wears fake clothes and even dares to claim it’s real. Such a disgrace to the Hargreaves family.”
Sarah, standing nearby, played the concerned friend. “Alright, that’s enough. I’m sure Jennifer has learned her lesson by now. Let’s not keep making fun of her.”
Jennifer bit her lip in frustration, hastily walking into the study room, finally escaping the petty drama.
Standing by the door, Sarah wore a smug expression. She wasn’t sure if the dress she was wearing was authentic either.
After all, it was such a hot item, and many people were trying to buy it.
Sarah had also worried that the dress she rented might be at

Luckily, Vivian checked Jennifer’s first, and it turned out to be
fake.
This surprised Sarah. It made her think that Jennifer might not be that well–loved in the Clark family, and they would send her a fake as a form of humiliation.
She thought, “I bet Jennifer’s been showing off her ‘perfect‘ relationship with Timothy. Well, looks like that backfired today.”
Jennifer sat at her desk, still a bit upset.
It was bad enough that she’d ended up wearing the same dress as Sarah, but now that malicious woman had enjoyed seeing her in this mess.
She needed to figure out what had happened!
Taking out her phone, Jennifer hesitated for a moment before sending Timothy a message: [When will you be back from your business trip? I need to talk to you about something.]
After sending the message, she waited for a long time without receiving a reply.
She felt a bit discouraged. She wanted answers about what had really happened.
After finishing his meeting, Timothy finally noticed the unread
Chapter 61 Something’s Definitely Off message on his phone.
Opening it, he saw it was from Jennifer.
He wondered, “What does Jennifer want to talk about?”
He immediately called her.
On the other end, Jennifer’s voice came through, lowered and slightly tense. “Hold on a second. I’m in the study room.”
Jennifer stepped out of the study room to take the call, surprised that Timothy had actually returned her call.
Timothy’s low voice came through the phone. “What’s this about? What did you want to talk about?”

Jennifer hesitated. When she’d sent the message earlier, she had
been angry.
But now, after a few hours, most of her frustration had faded, and she had calmed down.
She took a deep breath. “Actually, it’s not a big deal. If you’re busy, we can talk when you have some time.”
Timothy’s tone turned impatient. “Just tell me.”
