Chapter 62 None of Your Business
Jennifer sighed when she heard Timothy’s tone on the other end of the phone.
She took a deep breath before speaking. “It’s not really a big deal, but I stayed at the Clark Manor the other night, and Madam Clark had some clothes sent over. I picked one to wear to school today, but it turns out the dress is a fake. I believe she wouldn’t do that on purpose, but I really want to understand what happened.”
She just wanted to ask Timothy where things had gone wrong.
After all, he was from the Clark family and would likely know more about the situation than she did.
Timothy frowned deeply. “My grandmother wouldn’t send you counterfeit goods.”
“I know that’s true, which is why I’m so confused. I just want to understand what went wrong. Something must have happened
in between.”
“I’ll have someone look into it,” Timothy replied curtly.

“Oh, okay. Well, I don’t have anything else to discuss. You can go ahead with what you need to do. Sorry for interrupting,” Jennifer said.

Timothy rubbed his temples in frustration. “This is still a matter related to the Clark family.”
Once the call ended, he immediately called Eric into his office and instructed him to investigate the situation.
Eric was surprised. “Madam Clark is so fond of Ms. Hargreaves, how could she possibly send her fake goods? I’ll get people on it right away.”
“Also, while you’re at it, check into what happened with her at school today,” Timothy added.
Eric nodded and, after a brief pause, asked, “Mr. Clark, since it’s getting late, are you planning to rest here or head back now?”
Timothy set down his phone and replied nonchalantly, “I’ll head back directly.”
After a brief moment, he added, “No, go directly to the school.”
Eric felt a little pleased. He thought, “It seems that Mr. Clark really care about Ms. Hargreaves after all.”
After hanging up the phone, Jennifer patted her chest in relief.
Talking to Timothy always made her feel so pressured. But since he said he would look into it, she believed there would soon be some results.
She returned to her desk but suddenly realized that her sketchbook seemed to have been moved.

She distinctly remembered being in a different position when she left earlier.

Jennifer looked around the room and noticed that Sarah and Sadie were no longer there. “When did.they leave?” she thought.
Feeling uncomfortable, Jennifer couldn’t shake the suspicion that Sarah had been rifling through her design sketches.
She knew Sarah was exactly the type of person who would do something like that.
Opening her sketchbook again, Jennifer reviewed the design she had been working on carlier.
She quickly turned the page and began drawing again.
Honestly, she hadn’t been satisfied with her previous design, as she had been distracted by thoughts of the fake dress. But now that she knew Timothy was handling the situation, she felt a lot more at case and was able to focus, which sparked new ideas.
As she got back to her drawing, her phone rang.
She picked it up and was surprised to see it was Timothy calling.
She lowered her voice. “Have you found anything out?”
“It’s resolved. I’m outside the school gates.”
His voice was still cold, and before she could respond, he hung

up, not even giving her a chance to object.

Jennifer was taken aback. She thought, “Wasn’t he on a business trip?
How could he have come back so quickly? And why is he suddenly at the school gate?
He found something in the investigation?”
She couldn’t figure it out, but she decided to gather her things. quickly and rush to the school gates.
When she arrived, she saw a sleek black car parked nearby.
Timothy rolled down the window. He was dressed in a sharp dark suit, looking every bit at the immaculate business elite.
Jennifer walked straight over to him, about to speak, when she heard Sarah’s high–pitched voice from the side. “Mr. Clark, I didn’t expect to run into you here at the school gate,”
Sarah held her designer handbag and stood right in front of Timothy. “You must be here to pick up Jennifer, right?”
Timothy didn’t even glance at Sarah. His gaze was fixed on Jennifer as she walked over to him.
Sarah, receiving the cold shoulder, felt a twinge of dissatisfaction.
She quickly turned to Jennifer and smiled. “Jennifer, about the

issue with your wearing the counterfeit dress today, you really shouldn’t take it too hard. But, since you’re now the fiancée of Mr. Clark, if word gets out that you wore fake goods, it could affect the Clark family’s reputation. I hope you won’t make the same mistake again.”
Sarah was sure that if Timothy found out Jennifer had worn fake clothes, he would certainly look down on her.
Jennifer, hearing this, couldn’t hold back her sarcasm. She rolled her eyes and snapped, “None of your business!”
Sarah really was always trying to stir up trouble between people.
