Timothy’s expression darkened. “Jennifer is an independent individual, not a pet you raise. If you require her obedience to be your sister, you might as well get a pet.”
Timothy’s words were sharply cutting.
Jennifer glanced at Timothy subconsciously, surprised that he would defend her.
They had already agreed to call off the engagement. She thought that for Timothy, she would have no more use.
She didn’t expect him actually to stand on her side.
Jennifer’s feelings became complicated. When Timothy looked over, she instinctively averted her gaze.
Asher was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond.
Sarah became anxious as well. She didn’t expect Jennifer actually to cancel the engagement.
This would be of no benefit to the Hargreaves family. She certainly didn’t want to become destitute.

Millie suddenly walked out from the backyard, her face
displeased. After all, dissolving the engagement would have the most significant impact on Timothy.

This would be best for both her and Timothy.
Millie looked at Timothy in disbelief. “Timothy, you actually agree?”
“Yes, I agree.”
“Are you crazy? Do you know what people will think of you?”
Timothy said calmly, “I don’t care.”
“But I do. The engagement cannot be broken off now!”
Sarah suddenly spoke up, “I think the engagement can continue. If Jennifer doesn’t want to continue with this contract, I can take
