Jennifer pushed Asher’s hand away. She refused to be morally manipulated in her parent’s name.
“Don’t use Mom and Dad to pressure me,” she said.
“Am I wrong? If you hadn’t insisted on going camping, you wouldn’t have been kidnapped, and Mom and Dad wouldn’t have had that accident,” Asher retorted, his voice laced with hatred.
If their parents hadn’t died so early, the Hargreaves family wouldn’t be in its current state.
Jennifer felt anger rise in her, tears brimming in her eyes.

Wiping her tears, she shot back, “If Mom and Dad knew you’d run the company into the ground and planned to sell me off to the Clark family for survival, would you have the face to see them?”

Asher scoffed, “Jennifer, you’re not as good as Sarah. Your camping trip caused her mother’s death too. You owe her your life.”
Jennifer coldly replied, “I’ve repaid everything I owed her.”
She thought, “She took everything from me in the Hargreaves family, and I’ve paid it back with my life.”
How can you repay a life? Mom and Dad were also killed because of you,” Asher seethed. “You’re coming back to King Villa with me tomorrow to apologize, even if you have to kneel.”
