She glanced at the time, put on her coat, and went downstairs to the kitchen to grab some kitchen scraps.
Walking into the basement, she overheard Sarah complaining on a call.
Jennifer knocked on the door, startling Sarah into silence. Then, she deliberately made a noise.
“Who is there? Is it James?” Sarah asked nervously from behind the door.
The next moment, Jennifer appeared in the doorway, making Sarah scream.
Jennifer dumped all the scraps inside. “A gift for you.
“Jennifer, you bitch!”
“Not as bitch as you. I have just learned from the best.”
Satisfied, Jennifer clapped her hands clean and walked away.
Back in her room, Jennifer felt much better. She thought, “After all, kitchen scraps did not smell great.”

She stared at the phone for a while before switching it off.
The next morning, Jennifer yawned as she went downstairs. From the basement, she heard Sarah complaining again.
“Asher, Jennifer has gone too far! She threw a bunch of trash in here just to torment me!”
Asher hesitated. “Sarah, bear with it for now. I have arranged for Mr. Clark to come tomorrow to discuss this. Once that is settled, you can leave.”
“Really? Fine, I will hold on a little longer. Are you coming back tonight?”

“No, I will be working late. Let James know if you need anything.” Asher replied before hanging up.

Frustrated, Sarah gritted her teeth. She thought, “I could not stand staying in the basement another night–I had not slept at all.”
Jennifer leisurely strolled to the basement, holding some food. “Time to eat.”
“I am not eating!”
Sarah snapped, refusing anything Jennifer brought.
Jennifer tossed the food inside anyway. “Suit yourself. That is your choice.”
She turned to James. “If you secretly give Sarah food, pack your things and leave. There are cameras–I will know.”
Jennifer repeated the warning to the other servants, pulling out a retrieved handgun. “If anyone disobeys, you can either leave or face the consequences.”
James, initially defiant, went silent upon seeing the gun, terrified Jennifer might actually use it.
Daniel walked over. “You should eat something too. You have lost a lot of weight lately.”

James, still hesitant, muttered. “Ms. Campbell has not caten anything either…”

Jennifer smirked. “I brought her breakfast, didn’t I? If she does not eat, that is her problem. Skipping one meal will not kill her- I am doing just fine.”

Daniel slammed the table. “What is different? Jennifer is the real daughter of the Hargreaves family, not Sarah. Know your priorities!”
James froze, shocked by the shift in attitude. He thought, “Things had not been like this before.”
Daniel continued coldly. “You changed the passcodes without permission. You are no longer the housekeeper. I will appoint someone else soon. If you mess up again, you are out of here.”
James, cowed by Daniel’s words, kept quiet.
Jennifer shot James a disdainful look. “You are no longer in charge. Know your place. If you cross the line again, you are out. You are just a servant, nothing more.”
James lowered his head and murmured. “Understood.”
Once James left, Daniel turned to Jennifer. “Looks like James forgot his place. You must have endured a lot before.”
