Chapter 230 What’s With Your Attitude?
Jennifer let her phone ring and didn’t bother checking the messages filled with explanations.

During the days she’d been confined to the Hargreaves Villa, the tabloid company assumed she was too scared to make anything public, so they kept stalling.
Well, if worse came to worst, they could all go down together.
The tabloid company was backed by Mary, and they certainly couldn’t afford to offend so many people.
Unable to get through to Jennifer, they had no choice but to report the situation to their boss.
When Mary received the call, she gritted her teeth in anger. “She’s really not answering calls or replying to messages?”
“That’s right. I even told her she could name her terms, but she still didn’t respond. Now she’s leaked some photos, and people are coming to us about it. What should we do?”
“What should we do? You’re asking me? I’m paying all of you, and this is what I get? What’s the point of keeping you around?”
Furious, Mary rubbed her temples and finally said, “Schedule a

“Boss, are you sure? If we do that, our company’s credibility will take a hit, and we’ll be the laughingstock of the industry.”
“What else can we do? You idiots failed to properly release the evidence, and now she’s using it against us. Useless, all of you.”
Mary hung up the phone. She had originally planned to use. this situation to mock Timothy and ruin his engagement with Jennifer.
Killing two birds with one stone would have been perfect.
But who would’ve thought that wretched Jennifer would find at way to hack their system and get dirt on the company?
If this information went public, there would be no way for her to remain in this industry.
The only option was to clarify the earlier news.
Damn Jennifer. She had underestimated her before.
Sandy yawned as she came downstairs. “Mom, what are you ranting about? I’ve got some good news for you.”
“What good news? Let me hear it and cheer up a little.”
“I heard that Timothy is planning to break off the engagement with Jennifer, but the Hargreaves family wants that foster girl to take her place instead. Isn’t that hilarious?”

Mary was surprised. “A foster girl to replace Jennifer? Ha! The Hargreaves family really have their heads in the clouds if they think anyone can just waltz into the Clark family.”
Jennifer’s status was already considered low, let alone a foster girl–who, rumor had it, was the housekeeper’s daughter.
Sandy continued, “But it seems Timothy didn’t reject the idea. He even went to the Hargreaves Villa to discuss it.”
“That’s impossible. With his personality, there’s no way your cousin would agree to such terms,” Mary said, frowning.
“It’s because people are mocking Timothy, saying his health is poor and that’s why his fiancée cheated on him. If he breaks off the engagement, wouldn’t that confirm the rumors? I think he won’t end the engagement but will swap out the bride,” Sandy speculated smugly.
Sandy, for once, seemed to have made a sharp observation, and the more she thought about it, the happier she became.
She could still remember Jennifer strutting around proudly in front of her. If Jennifer’s engagement to Timothy was broken off, she could finally mock her to her heart’s content.
Just imagining it made Sandy giddy with excitement.
Mary, however, felt something was off. Timothy wasn’t the type to care about gossip; otherwise, those tabloid reporters would have been dealt with long ago.
Chapter 230 What’s With Your Attitude? What exactly was Timothy planning?

The next morning, Jennifer woke up and immediately checked her phone.
Sure enough, the top headline was the tabloid company. clarifying that the midnight affair rumors involving Jason and her were false.
The news dropped like a bombshell.
Those who had followed the drama and been misled by the media realized they’d been played and started venting their outrage.
The tabloid company was flooded with harsh criticism.
Seeing the backlash greatly improved Jennifer’s mood. She noticed the messages from the tabloid company and replied with a single word: [Okay.]
It was her way of acknowledging their efforts.
It seemed Mary was genuinely worried about the dirt being exposed and had no choice but to clarify the matter.
Jennifer felt much better now that the media company had personally issued the clarification. It gave the explanation far more credibility.
After getting dressed, Jennifer headed downstairs and found

As soon as she appeared, Daniel asked quickly, “Jennifer, did you see the news?”
“What news?” Jennifer asked casually.
She deliberately feigned ignorance, sat down on the couch, and picked up a cup of coffee.
Daniel explained, “The tabloid company clarified that the rumors about you and Jason were completely fabricated. They made it all up to attract attention.”
“I guess they finally grew a conscience. Making up lies is illegal, after all,” Jennifer replied dryly.
Asher, noticing how calm she was, asked, “Did you already know? Was it the Clark family who put pressure on them?”
“I just found out when I woke up. As for whether the Clark family pressured them, why don’t you go ask yourself?” Jennifer replied nonchalantly.
“Jennifer, what’s with your attitude?” Asher snapped.
Jennifer’s expression turned cold. “The tabloids already clarified the truth, and yet you’re here asking me if the Clark family had to pressure them. Do you think I’m the kind of person the tabloids accused me of being?”
They had never truly believed her.

Just then, James hurried over. “Something’s wrong! Ms. Campbell fainted in the basement!”
