Chapter 295 My Future

Jennifer looked at Timothy after speaking, remembering how she once thought she’d never fall for anyone again.
“That’s all in the past now,” she continued. “My future belongs to me alone.”
She would never forgive those who had betrayed her in her previous life.
Timothy noticed Jennifer’s downcast
mood. He wondered if it was all because
of that man.
That was why Jennifer said her future belonged to her alone.

Timothy shifted in his wheelchair, his expression becoming somewhat awkward. “Go ahead and freshen up.”
“Okay.”
Jennifer walked into the bathroom alone and stared at her reflection, forcing a faint expression.
Her eyes drifted to the bathtub, recalling what had happened between her and Timothy when she was here a few days
ago.
Yet, on this second visit, so many things had changed.
Jennifer remembered how he had ended

úp in his previous life because of his ex. If it wasn’t deep, lasting love, how could he have gone to such extremes for his ex?
These thoughts helped Jennifer calm the stirring in her heart, restoring her composure.
She decided this was the best place to draw the line. It would be less awkward for both of them.
Jennifer walked out after freshening up and glanced at the man by the window. “I’m done.”
Timothy had been staring out the window, seemingly lost in thought.
He turned his head when he heard
Jennifer’s voice.

Jennifer came to his side, taking in the view. “You know, the scenery here is actually quite nice. Did you deliberately spread those rumors about this place
so that you could keep all this beauty to yourself?”

Besides Kinglet Villa, there were plenty of hiking spots in the area.
But perhaps due to the intense rumors surrounding Kinglet Villa, the area didn’t get many visitors.
Timothy’s thin lips curved slightly. “Maybe. Sometimes things work out in unexpected ways.”
Just like how he never imagined he’d develop feelings for another woman.

“Since you like it here, I’ll have the villa transferred to your name,” he said, still gazing at the view.
“Transfer it to my name?”

Jennifer responded as if she hadn’t heard right. “That’s unexpected, but no thanks.”
Her rejection was immediate.
Having decided to keep her distance from Timothy, she couldn’t accept anything from him – it would only complicate things later.
He noticed her deliberate detachment
and, after a moment of silence, said, “Consider it compensation.”

If Jennifer hadn’t entered his life,

perhaps he would have remained forever unchanged.
“With Mr. Clark being so generous, you’ll have girls lining up once your leg heals,” Jennifer said.
Her hands rested on the windowsill as she continued, “By then, you’ll be starting a fresh chapter, leaving all these dark times behind.”
She wanted to add a warning about not giving everything to an ex–girlfriend just because she showed a hint of kindness, only to end up in jail by her hands.
But she kept those words to herself.
She’d meant to say it earlier, but Timothy
had seemed so resistant to any mention of his ex, clearly uncomfortable with the topic.
It was apparent he still wasn’t over her.
Timothy looked up at the woman standing by the window, her eyes as calm as the night itself. She was politely turning down his advances.
Was this called being “friendzoned“?
His eyes held a hint of self–mockery, but his expression quickly returned to normal. “When our contract ends, I’ll compensate you. Think about what you want.”
“Anything goes?”

Jennifer tilted her head, deliberately looking at him. “No conditions?”

Timothy’s throat moved slightly. “None.”
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll ask for your entire
fortune? I’ve always been weak when it comes to money.”
After all, she’d need capital for her future business ventures.
Timothy chuckled softly. “I’ll give you everything I own, but you’ll have to take care of me for life.”
Jennifer’s gaze faltered, and she quickly looked away. “That job won’t fall to me.”
They were both joking around, secretly testing each other’s waters.

Finally, Jennifer looked at him thoughtfully. “I do have one request, but I’ll tell you when the time comes.”
She didn’t want to see Timothy repeat the mistakes of his past life, and she certainly didn’t want Angelina to die of heartbreak.
