Millic believed Jennifer was utterly devious. She was convinced Jennifer wanted Timothy’s leg to stay crippled so she could cling to her role as his fiancée and eventually marry into the Clark family.
Now Jennifer was even complaining to Angelina. To Millie, such a woman was utterly unworthy of being her daughter–in–law.
Sharon tried to explain. “Mrs. Millie Clark, Ms. Hargreaves isn’t like that. Her relationship with Mr. Clark has improved a lot recently. It won’t be long before you’ll be welcoming grandchildren.”
Everyone was aware of the progress between Jennifer and Timothy.
Millie’s expression darkened instantly. “Once my son’s leg heals, he’ll marry a proper socialite.”
