Timothy took Jennifer to hospital as soon as he could.

He gazed at the wounded girl cradled in his arms, his eyes icing over with a chill.
It was unfortunate that he couldn’t kill the Hargreaves family
today.
He thought, “Grandma was right. If I finish them off today, it’ll come back to haunt us.
“If anyone ever found out, they’d use it against Jennifer.”
“I’ll have to come up with another plan later on.”
After the day’s exhausting escapades, Timothy had reached his breaking point with the Hargreaves family. With a resolute heart, he pledged to cultivate a discreet revenge, torturing them in secret until they wished they were dead.
By doing so, Jennifer would be shielded from any further threats.
Meanwhile, in the haze of her unconscious state, Jennifer was trapped in a terrifying dream.
She found herself back at the lab, face–to–face with her torturers. Dylan had sliced her cheek, using her as a test subject for

Sarah’s scar removal cream.

Her heart brimmed with hatred, yet she found herself powerless to command her own limbs.
She could only watch as she obediently dragged the blade across her skin. The cuts spread like a morbid tapestry, each one a desperate plea to keep Dylan’s volatile temper at bay.
Finally, she fought to rouse herself from the nightmare.
The sharp, clean scent of disinfectant assaulted her senses. As her eyes fluttered open, they were met with a white ceiling. Only then did she realize that she was in a hospital.
She recalled the fleeting image of Timothy as darkness had claimed her.
The moment he stepped into view, a wave of relief so profound washed over her that she fainted, succumbing to the safety his presence promised.
With a tentative effort, she pushed herself upright. A sharp twinge in her knee made her wince. Curiosity and a hint of dread prompted her to lift the hem of her trousers. Her knees scraped and reddened.
Millie’s bodyguards were utterly merciless.
“You awake?”
Timothy stepped in. His face had been etched with a deadly.

chill, but the moment his eyes met hers, his expression melted. into something far gentler.
He walked over as he brushed her forehead gently. “I asked the doctor. It won’t leave a scar.”
Jennifer winced slightly from the pain. She didn’t need a mirror to know how mortifying her current state was.
“How long have I been out?”
When she spoke, her voice croaked out, rough and strained, reminiscent of a weary, old bellows.
“You slept the entire day,” Timothy replied softly. “Are you feeling alright now?”
“It’s good. I didn’t feel a thing. By the way, what Sarah made me inhale was just ether, wasn’t it?”
She harbored a deep–seated mistrust for Sarah.
Timothy nodded. “Yes. The doctor ran tests on your blood. It was only ether.”
“Good. I feel better now.”
Jennifer lay back down, exhaustion still tugging at her. “Thank you for coming just in time.”
“It’s all because of my mother. I’m sorry. I failed to protect you.” His words carried a hint of guilt.

Hearing his apology, she looked up in astonishment.
She hesitated for a moment before speaking, “It really is your mother’s fault. She was too hasty to give me the chance to explain.”
“I’ve already dealt with the bodyguard who hurt you,” Timothy said firmly. “Anyone who tries to hurt you again will regret it.”
When she caught the phrase “deal with,” she couldn’t resist interjecting, “You killed them?”
A dark shadow passed over Timothy’s face, and the murderous intent in his eyes was impossible to hide.
“No,” Jennifer pleaded. “Killing them will only cause you trouble. Just teach them a lesson. Please.”
She gazed earnestly at Timothy, but he responded with a gentle smile.
Seeing Jennifer so fraught with worry for him, Timothy felt a warmth spread through him, lifting his spirits.
“I’m serious,” Jennifer insisted.
“That’s what Grandma said.”
Jennifer nodded in agreement. “So, they’re still alive, aren’t they?”

Timothy shot a glance at Eric, who then added, “They should still be alive. I’ll make a call to confirm.”

Jennifer sighed in relief. “They’re just following your mother’s orders. She’s the one you need to stop.”
“Don’t worry,” Timothy’s voice was firm. “She won’t dare try something like this again.”
He made some arrangements, determined to prevent any repeat performances.
Jennifer knew Millie had staged this whole thing for Timothy’s sake.
After a moment’s thought, she suggested, “Once I’m discharged, I’ll go straight to your lab. Seeing the progress will make your mother believe me.”
“No rush,” Timothy said softly. “Focus on healing first.”
Their eyes met, and Jennifer felt herself getting lost in his gaze.
She looked away quickly, her cheeks burning. “So,” she asked, trying to change the subject, “what happened after I blacked
out?”
