Chapter 338 The Wedding

Jennifer fixed her gaze on Timothy. “Sure, Dylan backed down yesterday because he wasn’t ready to die.”
But this wasn’t over. No way the Hargreaves were gonna let this slide.
“If he wants to die, he’s welcome to try something.” Timothy’s voice cut through the air like ice.
His words sent Jennifer’s mind racing, trying to figure out how to defuse this powder keg with the Hargreaves.
The whole research facility situation was still a mess waiting to blow up.
“Ms. Hargreaves, don’t worry,” the secretary chimed in. “We’ve got security footage from the facility. It shows Dylan slipping Sarah the ether and jumping you from behind.”
up.”
Jennifer perked up. “Right, totally forgot about the cameras.”
The secretary had a point. With that security footage in their pocket, Dylan would have to stick to the shadows if he wanted to make any moves. No way he could pull anything out in the open
now.
After wrapping up their conversation, the doctor came in to give Jennifer a thorough check–up.
Chapter 338 The Wedding
As Jennifer lay there, the whole research facility incident felt like some wild fever dream. If it hadn’t been for Timothy…
Her mind drifted to how fiercely he’d protected her, and her supposedly calm heart started fluttering again.

Timothy was something else–tough exterior but a heart of gold.
No wonder that in her previous life, even after his leg healed, he’d given everything up for his first love, who betrayed him.
He was such a passionate, devoted man–yet his fate had been nothing but cruel.
The memory of Timothy’s fate in his past life weighed heavily on Jennifer’s mind, though she couldn’t quite figure out how to broach the subject with him.
It wasn’t long before Angelina showed up at the hospital.
“Jennifer, how are you feeling? If anything’s bothering you at all, don’t hesitate to tell the doctors,” Angelina said, concern etched across her face.
“I’m fine, Grandma. Just some scrapes and bruises, nothing serious.” Jennifer assured her.
Seeing Jennifer’s composed demeanor, Angelina visibly relaxed. “Your calmness puts my mind at ease,” she said warmly. “As for what happened at the research facility… Don’t worry yourself about it. I’ll take care of everything.”

“Grandma, there’s something Timothy and I haven’t told you,” Jennifer began carefully. “I was actually involved in developing Dylan’s breakthrough drug. He may have erased my name from the records, but I know how to help Timothy walk again by next
year.”
Angelina’s eyes widened. “Are you serious?”
She’d heard Timothy mention it yesterday but hadn’t given it much thought at the time.
After all, developing a wonder drug wasn’t exactly something just anyone could pull off.
The Clark family’s labs had poured millions into it over the years without making any real headway.
Jennifer gave a solemn nod.” The thing is, Dylan already registered the patent. If I went public with it now, I’d be in hot water. Never thought Millie would get so desperate… That’s what led to yesterday’s whole mess.”
At the mention of Millie, Angelina let out a heavy sigh.
“I’ll set her straight about this, don’t worry,” Angelina said, squeezing Jennifer’s hand. “But you’re right about the drug. Speaking up before it’s fully developed would only cause
trouble. No point creating extra headaches that’ll just slow down your research.
Jennifer wasn’t surprised–she knew Angelina would

Jennifer looked at her earnestly. “Once I’m discharged and back on my feet, I’ll head straight to the Clark family’s lab. Don’t worry. Timothy will walk again, and I’ll make your wish come
true.”
Angelina’s face lit up with joy as she squeezed Jennifer’s hand. “Oh, Jennifer, I always knew you were our family’s lucky star.”
Jennifer couldn’t help but smile, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.
She’d grown genuinely fond of Angelina, who treated her with all the care and affection of a real parent.
Even after everything that went down at the research facility, Angelina hadn’t jumped to blame her like her future husband’s mother. Instead, she chose to stand by Jennifer’s side.
That unwavering trust meant everything–and Jennifer was determined to get Timothy back on his feet within the year, no matter what it took.
“Jennifer, seeing how close you and Timothy have become… I’m thinking we should throw you two a grand wedding next year,” Angelina smiled.
“Wedding?”
The word caught Jennifer off guard. She hesitated, stealing a quick glance at Timothy.
