Jennifer stared at Asher. “Did you think I was joking back then? I was dead serious.”
“Jennifer, are you really going to cut ties with the family just because we were a bit nice to Sarah?”
Jennifer’s eyes were filled with mockery and disappointment. “I thought after everything that happened, you’d realize your mistakes, but I was wrong.”
If they could readily admit their mistakes, she wouldn’t have died so tragically in her previous life.

Jennifer’s smile deepened. “Fine by me.”
She didn’t care either way, but she knew the Hargreaves family would care about maintaining ties with the Clark family.
Asher grew desperate. “Jennifer, why are you being like this?”

gave you my terms. Don’t blame me if you can’t meet them.”

There was no proof. It was all speculation.

Asher finally softened his tone. “Jennifer, I know you’re angry. I’ll discipline Sarah properly and make her apologize to you.”
Jennifer was done talking. She turned away and lay down on the bed, refusing to look at Asher.
Asher could only sigh at her turned back.
