Chapter 345 She No Longer Cared
Jennifer stared at the man in front of her, their eyes locked.
She turned her head away, avoiding his gaze. “I’m used to being
alone.”
Besides, what would happen if she got used to relying on him
now?
They’d be going their separate ways by next year anyway. Once Timothy’s true love returned, he’d be by her side instead.
It was better to keep their distance for now.
After Timothy left the hospital room, Jennifer let out a heavy sigh, her mood sinking considerably.
She lay down on the bed, her thoughts in complete disarray.
After tossing and turning for what felt like ages, she decided to stop overthinking. Tomorrow’s problems could wait until
tomorrow.
Even if she told Timothy about his true love now, he wouldn’t believe her anyway.
That afternoon, Asher sent her several photos showing Sarah’s disfigured neck injuries.
The images were horrifying. Jagged wounds gaped open, revealing raw flesh and blood. Her neek was a mangled mess,

The wounds were in the same places as in her previous life, though the damage to her hands was more extensive this time.
Jennifer glanced at the photos without a shred of sympathy.
In her past life, Sarah deliberately cut her neck and falsely accused Jennifer of doing it. Her brothers all turned against Jennifer, and Dylan even used himself as a test subject for scar treatment research.
Hmph. Even though many things had changed in this life, some things still ended up the same.
Looking at these photos, Jennifer understood what Asher was trying to convey, but she felt no sympathy for Sarah whatsoever.
Soon enough, Asher called, “Jennifer, don’t you have any thoughts after seeing Sarah’s injury photos?”
“Oh, I do.”
Jennifer’s voice was ice–cold. “I think she got what she
deserved.”
When she said those words, the other end of the line fell into
dead silence.
Finally, Asher spoke with accusation in his voice. “Jennifer, I know Sarah was wrong, but you…”
“Since you know Sarah was wrong, you shouldn’t be wasting my time with this nonsense. You should be teaching Sarah not to

She knew what Asher wanted to say, but she had zero interest in hearing it.
Asher’s anger flared up. “But her injuries are devastating for a young woman. She’s suffered enough already! What more do you want?”
Jennifer scoffed, “I don’t want anything.”
Her voice dripped with sarcasm. “I couldn’t care less about her. You’re the one who sent me her photos! What exactly are you trying to achieve?”
Jennifer’s demeanor suddenly turned ice–cold, her voice. unyielding.
Asher knew his argument was weak, but he pressed on desperately. “Jennifer, we’re all family here. Do you really have. to be this heartless?”
“I’m heartless?”
“Aren’t you? Sure, Sarah made a mistake by drugging you, but it didn’t cause any lasting damage. But look what you did to her!”
Asher pressed on self–righteously. “You’ve ruined her entire life – don’t you think that’s incredibly cruel?”
Jennifer felt nothing as she listened to his words, completely numb.
Where once these accusations might have stung, now they barely

“You think I should’ve just taken their abuse without fighting back?” she sneered.
“That’s not what I meant, but you didn’t have to hurt her this badly.”
Asher felt sick seeing Sarah in such a state. How could the Hargreaves family show their face in public if word got out about abusing their adopted daughter?
“They knew damn well what I was holding when they started this,” Jennifer’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Sarah came at me anyway. That’s on her. I was just defending myself.”
“It doesn’t matter. She’s way more injured than you. That makes it your fault!”
Jennifer was rendered speechless by his words, too dumbfounded to respond for a long moment.
It was ridiculous beyond belief, completely and utterly absurd.
