Chapter 348 Throwing the Blame Back

Sarah weakly replied, “Well, it’s because at that time, you and Jennifer had a falling out, and you urgently needed a song for the year–end Best Singer competition. I was just trying to help you, so I secretly took a song Jennifer had written before and gave it to you.”
Daniel couldn’t believe his ears. “Then why didn’t you just tell me the truth? Why lie and shamelessly claim it was your song?”
Back then, Daniel had actually believed her.
Sarah, feeling guilty, responded, “If I had told you the truth, you would’ve never used that song. I was doing it for your own good! And besides, you ended up taking the fall for it because Asher said so. My intentions were never wrong.”
If Daniel hadn’t been so desperate to win that year–end award; would she have had to go to such lengths?
When Daniel heard her, he felt a chill run through him.
He turned to Asher with cold eyes. “Asher, do you see clearly now? This is who Sarah really is. She’s the true backstabber here!”
Daniel was filled with regret. Why had he listened to Asher back
Chapter 348 Throwing the Blame Back then? Why had he taken the blame when it should have been. Sarah who paid the price?

Had he not done that, his career wouldn’t have been destroyed.
He had thought he was doing the right thing, making sacrifices for Sarah. But it turned out to be complete stupidity.
The more Daniel thought about it, the more regret he felt. He had broken ties with his real sister, Jennifer, for Sarah–an adopted sister.
It had all been for nothing.
Asher, hearing Sarah’s words, fell silent, his expression sour.
He too felt hurt by what Sarah had said.
After all these years of kindness toward her, this was how she repaid them.
Seeing Asher’s reaction, Sarah immediately panicked. She hastily explained, “What I said was just out of frustration. I’m in a terrible mood right now. Please don’t take my words seriously.”
Right now, she couldn’t afford to break ties with them.
How could she heal if they turned against her?
She still needed money to treat her injuries, and the only way to get it was to stay at Hargreaves Villa and have her wounds.

treated.
Now was not the time to burn bridges with the Hargreaves family.

Asher sighed and looked at Sarah. “Focus on your recovery. As for the rest, we’ll deal with it later.”
Sarah didn’t dare say anything more, even though she was unsatisfied with the situation.
With a pitiful look, she asked, “Asher, how is Dylan doing? Does he think my injury can be treated?”
Asher shrugged. “Dylan’s fine. Don’t worry. Just rest. And stop thinking about suicide. Your scars can be treated.”
Asher was incredibly busy and didn’t want to waste time dealing with Sarah’s drama right now.
Meanwhile, Daniel sneered, “If you really want to kill yourself again, just jump off the balcony. You don’t need to put on such a big show and act all pathetic.”
Real people who actually wanted to die didn’t make a spectacle of it.
They did it in private, in the middle of the night, when no one was around.
When Sarah heard this, she immediately reacted with more exaggerated pity. “Daniel, I was just so upset earlier. I didn’t

mean to say anything so harsh. If you were in my position, you would have felt the same.”
“You’ve ended up like this because of your own choices,” Daniel shot back coldly.
Asher quickly intervened, “That’s enough, Daniel. Sarah’s just been through a lot. She didn’t mean to say those things.”
Daniel gave an angry snort. “Now you want to play the good guy? What if the Clark family decides to hold Sarah accountable? Let’s see if you’ll still be defending her then.”
With that, Daniel stormed out of the room.
Sarah started to panic. “Asher, what are they going to hold me responsible for? The research lab incident had nothing to do with me! The Clark family sent Jennifer here, and it was Dylan who handed me the ether and told me to do it.”
When Sarah saw Asher remain silent, she became even more
nervous.
“I never wanted to hurt Jennifer! I was just doing as told!”
Her heart pounded. What did Daniel mean by his words?
Why would the Clark family be coming after her? Wasn’t it Jennifer who should be held responsible?
That damn Jennifer!
