Chapter 360 Women and Their Vanity
After leaving the hospital, Jennifer was in high spirits. She treated herself to an ice cream, leisurely walking down the street, savoring the treat as she took in the afternoon air.
Her next stop was the Clark family’s laboratory.
Once she developed the special medicine, everything would fall into place.
Dylan’s lies would be exposed, the company would face collapse, and everything he had stolen from her in her past life would be hers once again.
But by then, her relationship with Timothy would be over.
“Jennifer? Is that really you?”
Jennifer stopped in her tracks, surprised to see Jason’s car parked by the curb. “Well, this is a surprise. Long time no see.”
“It sure is. Got time for a coffee?”
Jason flashed a charming smile.
Jennifer hesitated for a moment and then nodded, sliding into the passenger seat of his car. She glanced around at the interior. “New car? Looks like you’re doing well.”
“Yeah, I just got it. The sound system’s amazing. Want to hear that song you wrole?”
Chapter 350 Women and Their Vanity
Jason pressed play, and the familiar melody of the song Jennifer had. written some time ago filled the car.
As she listened, Jennifer’s thoughts drifted for a moment. In her past life, this song had been written for Daniel.
But now, it belonged to Jason.
She’d taken back what was hers, reclaiming the song that she had once given to Daniel, whose career was now in ruins.
She rolled down the window, letting the wind tousle her hair.
“Everything’s looking up,” she murmured, finally free from the constraints of her past life.
This time, every move she made was for herself.
Jason glanced over at her. “You seem in a good mood today.”
“I am,” she replied, a smile tugging at her lips.
“But I heard you ran into some trouble at school. Your adopted sister said you disfigured her?”
Jason’s voice was filled with disbelief. “That’s slander, right?”
Jennifer turned her head to look at him. “No, it’s true.”
Jason slammed on the brakes, his face registering shock. “Why would you do something like that?”
Jennifer noticed his shift in demeanor, his expression turning cold. It was clear to her that he genuinely believed it.

Jason quickly added, “Don’t misunderstand me. I almost got disfigured by a competitor once, so I’ve got some baggage when it comes to stuff like that.”
Jennifer’s lips curled into a cool smile. “I did it for self–defense.”
“I believe you,” Jason said, but his tone was now tense.
His eyes, once warm, now held a flicker of distance.
Jennifer let out a soft laugh and opened the car door, stepping
out.
Jason hurried after her. “Jennifer, don’t be upset. I know I sounded harsh earlier. I’m sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize,” Jennifer said, her voice sharp. “It’s really not necessary, because I am the kind of woman who ruins faces.”
She looked back at him coolly. “You don’t need to follow me. You’re a public figure, after all. If someone catches us together, it wouldn’t look good for your image.”
Jason was persistent. “I’m not afraid.”
“But I am,” Jennifer said, stopping and turning to face him.
“I’m Timothy Clark’s fiancée now, and we’ve already been through one scandal. I’m not about to risk a second one.”
“Jennifer, I thought we were friends. And I don’t think you need Timothy’s fiancée status to define who you are,” Jason said, his voice soft but firm.
Chapter 360 Women and Their Vanity Jennifer raised an eyebrow. “You’re not me. How would you know what I need or don’t need?”

“Jennifer, I understand you. I can see the real you through your music,” Jason said, his tone serious now.
“Let’s continue working together. I’ll make sure the world knows your talent. Soon, people will see you for who you truly are, not just as someone’s fiancée.”
“We’ll talk about the collaboration later. Right now, I have other things to focus on,” Jennifer replied, her thoughts already on the special medicine she needed to develop.
Jason’s face fell slightly. “Don’t let this misunderstanding come between us. I want us to work together.”
“It’s not that. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not petty,” Jennifer said, her voice softening. “But there are more important things than career moves right now.”
“What could be more important than your career?” Jason asked, frustration creeping into his voice.
He had expected her to jump at the chance to work with him. He was the top singer now, and many people wanted to collaborate with him.
Yet here was Jennifer, a newcomer, refusing.
