Chapter 363 Sarah’s Betrayal
Dylan was losing his patience. “Sarah, have you even thought about the fallout of going against the Hargreaves family?”
Sarah locked eyes with him, her anger palpable. “I’m the one who’s been wronged! Why is it that I’m the one paying for everything, while all of you skate by untouched?”
She was the one who had suffered the most.
Why was she the only one who had to stay quiet?
Dylan’s voice lowered, trying to manage the situation. “I’ll take care of your injuries, I promise.”
“But you’ve done nothing to make Jennifer pay! It’s because of you that I ended up like this!”
Sarah’s voice cracked with frustration. She was done holding it all in.
If she couldn’t find peace, then no one was going to walk away unscathed.
Dylan’s tone shifted, a dangerous edge creeping in. “If you keep this up, you’ll drag the Clark family into this too.”
“I know. But if you want to fix this, you all need to figure out how to make it right for me!”

Sarah’s eyes blazed with an unsettling determination.
She wasn’t going down alone. Everyone was going with her.
After speaking, Sarah followed the police out the door.

Dylan watched her leave, helpless, before turning to the officers. “I’m not going with you right now, and I’ll answer your questions once my lawyer arrives.”
Even though Sarah had called the cops, Dylan knew they couldn’t let things get any worse.
He quickly dialed Asher. “Asher, get to the station. Sarah’s gone and called the cops.”
“What? She did what?” Asher’s voice was thick with disbelief.
“Yeah, and you need to talk her down before she makes this even messier for the Hargreaves family.”
Dylan’s frustration with Sarah had reached its peak.
She was a disaster, constantly dragging everyone down, unable to handle anything on her own, and now making it worse for the whole family.
Meanwhile, Sarah was at the police station, crying and accusing the Hargreaves family of mistreatment.
Jennifer had just stepped out of the interrogation room when

she spotted Sarah, tears streaming down her face as she played the victim.
Jennifer approached, her lips curling into a cold smile. “So, Sarah, this was your idea, huh? Did Dylan approve of this?”
Jennifer knew Dylan was under a lot of pressure with the pharmaceutical company’s issues. If any more scandals hit, their stock was going to tank.
She figured Sarah must’ve acted impulsively.
The “good little adopted sister” routine was too ingrained in her, and now she was clearly desperate to change things.
Sarah flinched when she saw Jennifer. Her face twisted with fear. “Jennifer, I… I can’t take any more of your abuse. I’ve always tried to be part of this family, even though I’m just an adopted daughter. But I can’t… I can’t keep enduring this anymore!”
She broke off in a sob, making sure the officers saw her play the part of the helpless victim.
The officer standing beside Sarah was clearly moved by the performance, his eyes now wary as they flickered toward Jennifer. “Stay away from her.”
Jennifer took a step back, flashing a sharp smile. “Don’t be fooled by this act. She’s been living better than I ever did in this family. She’s no innocent little lamb.”

Sarah’s sobs grew louder, more desperate. “Jennifer, I’m not doing this for any reason other than to make you and the whole family stop abusing me.”
Jennifer couldn’t help but clap sarcastically. “Nice performance. But this is an investigation. It’s about the facts, not your acting skills.”
The sobs immediately became quieter as Sarah realized her tears weren’t having the intended effect.
Jennifer’s voice grew colder as she took a seat nearby. “Sarah, you’ve gone behind Dylan’s back. You really think you can afford. a lawyer? Or that you even have the money for one?”
Sarah’s crying picked up again, this time with a hint of panic.
She had been enduring the Hargreaves brothers all these years in the hopes of changing her status… of becoming part of the elite, of living the life she’d always dreamed of.
Just then, the door opened, and Asher walked in with a lawyer
in tow.
Sarah’s face lit up with relief as she saw him, and she burst into fresh tears. “Asher, thank God, you’re here!”
Asher glanced at her briefly, his expression icy. “You’re mistaken. I didn’t come here for you.”
Sarah froze.

He walked over to Jennifer, his tone a little less severe but still tinged with irritation. “Are you alright?”
Jennifer shrugged nonchalantly. “I’m fine. But the Hargreaves family? Not so much. You’ve got your ‘perfect little sister‘ betraying you. How’s that sitting with you?”
Asher rubbed his temples, a tired laugh escaping him. “It’s… not great.”
He turned to look at Sarah, his expression growing colder.
He was furious.
Not just at the situation, but at Sarah for dragging everything into the open like this. He needed answers. Why on earth had she called the police?
