Chapter 370 Turning Away

“You think Jennifer could’ve come back to us without the Clark family’s support?” Dylan’s voice was cold.
Sarah furrowed her brow, a spark of anger flashing in her eyes. “You always said you treated me like a real sister! But I made one mistake, and now you’re throwing me out. Jennifer’s made so many mistakes, yet you never treated her like this. Why is it different for me?”
Sarah had only dared to do this because of Jennifer.
For years, the Hargreaves brothers had been kind to her, and she’d always believed this was just a small issue. She thought a simple apology would fix things.
Dylan’s expression darkened instantly. “Don’t kid yourself. Jennifer’s credit card was canceled a long time ago. She hasn’t touched a penny of our money.”
Sarah blinked, confused, still processing what he said. “You’re telling me you never gave her money on the side?”
How could Jennifer be living so well without tapping into the Hargreaves‘ resources?
Sarah refused to believe it.
“I’m telling you, Jennifer didn’t spend a single dime of our

money. She’s been living off the Clark family’s funds. If you’re jealous of her, maybe you should find a rich guy to take care of you,” Dylan said, his tone cutting.
Dylan had no idea that Sarah believed the boys were secretly giving Jennifer financial support behind her back.
She refused to believe him. “That’s not possible. Jennifer is your sister. She must’ve inherited something from the Hargreaves family. She’s not like me.”
Dylan’s eyes hardened, his patience wearing thin. “Well, now you’re getting it. She’s estranged from us, but her share of our parents‘ inheritance is still hers, and we cannot take it away.”
Dylan suddenly looked at her like he didn’t recognize her.
Sarah, the obedient and considerate sister he once knew, was
now gone.
She had shown her true colors.
Sarah’s voice wavered with indignation. “Yeah, I’m different. from Jennifer. But I made one mistake, and now Asher wants me out of the family. You always said you’d treat me like your sister, but none of you have really done that. I’m just an adopted child, aren’t I?”
“Since you’re so upset, why don’t you leave?” Dylan’s words were blunt, final.
Since the incident at the research facility, Dylan had finally seen

Sarah for what she truly was. She had betrayed him, leading to him being shot by Timothy. He hadn’t even dealt with that yet.
And now, Sarah was threatening them, blackmailing the Hargreaves family for a hefty sum of money, and demanding they fix the scar on her neck.
The weight of his words hit Sarah like a punch.
She had expected his support, his sympathy–at least a little bit of understanding. But instead, he was pushing her away, just
like Asher had.
Sarah was almost shaking with anger and hurt. “You’re really going to throw me out like this? My injuries were because of you! How can you just turn your back on me?”
Dylan’s gaze was icy, dismissive. “Don’t twist things. Yes, I gave you the ether, but you’re the one who took it and went ahead with your own plan. You made the choice. How is that my fault?”
Dylan wasn’t about to admit anything.
He continued, “Anyone with eyes can see that Jennifer had dangerous things on her. You were the one who foolishly went over there.”
Sarah’s face changed when she heard this.
“So, what you’re saying is, now you’re going to put all the blame on me? This wasn’t something I did alone.”

Dylan didn’t flinch. “Do you have proof?”

His voice was cold, almost mocking. “You have no money for a lawyer, no witnesses to back your story. You can’t win this.”
Sarah’s heart sank. Dylan was right.
The people at the research institute would side with him, not with her. If she wanted to find witnesses, they wouldn’t help her -they would support Dylan’s version of events.
But then an idea struck her. “The institute has surveillance footage. Timothy has it. And the Clark family will definitely use that as evidence. The judge will believe it.”
Dylan chuckled darkly. “The judge will see us as accomplices. Do you honestly think your little police stunt will make us back down? Don’t be naïve, Sarah.”
Sarah felt a chill run down her spine. Her attempt to manipulate the situation by calling the police was backfiring in ways she hadn’t anticipated.
Not only had she alienated the Hargreaves family, but now she had also made enemies of the Clark family. Even Asher was tightening the financial screws.
She felt like she had nothing left. Her plan had failed, and she was paying the price.
Panic started to creep in. She had to fix this.
