Chapter 372 The Lady of the House
Jennifer could endure Millie’s insults and disdain, but when it came to her parents, that was where she drew the line.
Millie’s smirk only grew as she spoke, “Oh, so you’re upset now? But I didn’t say anything untrue. You Hargreaves have always shamelessly clung to our family. Now that I’m trying to get rid of you, you’re stubbornly staying. What kind of well–bred lady behaves like this?”
Jennifer’s gaze turned cold, and she let out a soft laugh. “You’ve done all this just to get me to leave, haven’t you? Well, I’m not going anywhere. In fact, I’m staying right here.”
She walked over to the sofa, plopped herself down, and casually grabbed something from the table to eat.
Looking over at Ryan, she said, “Once Timothy gets back, the first thing I’ll have him do is fire you.”
Millie was beside herself with fury. “You dare! Ryan has been serving our family for years, he’s an important part of this household. And what are you? What right do you have to fire my butler?”
Jennifer didn’t even flinch. “I’m the lady of this house. I have every right to.”
She immediately dialed Timothy’s number, putting it on

speakerphone. Timothy’s deep voice came through the line, “What is it? Is something wrong?”

Jennifer glanced at Millie with a knowing smile. “Actually, yes. Your mother came over and had Ryan pack up my things, telling me to leave. Didn’t you say I’m the lady of King Villa? Everything here is under my control, right?”
As she spoke, she kept her eyes locked on Millie, letting the
words sink in.
Truthfully, Jennifer wasn’t entirely sure how Timothy would respond.
If he sided with his mother because he was with that woman, she might have to leave.
But before doing so, she was going to make sure she had the last word.
There was a brief pause, and then Timothy’s voice came back, firm and unwavering. “Of course, you’re the lady of King Villa. You have the right to make decisions about everything here. You don’t need to ask me.”
Jennifer’s smile widened as she lifted her gaze, meeting Millie’s furious eyes. “Did you hear that? I’m the lady of King Villa. Everything here is my decision, not yours.”
Millie’s face reddened with rage.
She grabbed her phone, her voice shrill as she shouted,

“Timothy, what nonsense are you talking? Don’t you realize

what the Hargreaves family did? That adopted daughter went to the police–she could drag our family into this mess!”
“I know about that,” Timothy responded, his tone calm but resolute. “I’ll deal with it when I get back.”
Millie wasn’t satisfied with that response. “Is it really necessary for you to come back and deal with something so simple? You’re buying Dylan Hargreaves‘ medical company anyway, so there’s no need to keep this engagement. I’m kicking her out to avoid future trouble.”
Timothy sighed deeply, rubbing his forehead. Why did his mother keep getting involved with Jennifer?
“Mom, you have no right to make decisions for me. My relationship with Jennifer is none of your business.”
Millie was struck silent.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing–her son was openly defying her.
Jennifer, meanwhile, heard Timothy’s words and looked at Ryan with a cold, steady gaze. “Now, I’m firing you, and I’ll find a new butler. I don’t need someone who doesn’t listen to me.”
Ryan’s face twisted in disbelief. “You can’t do that.”
He had been working for the Clark family for years, considering himself part of the family now.
