Jennifer’s friends quickly chimed in, “Jennifer is saying you. attacked her first. She only acted in self–defense, and now you’re reaping what you’ve sown.”

“That’s not true! Jennifer’s the one who caused this! She’s lying!” Sarah insisted, trying to maintain her stance.
Jennifer remained calm, her voice steady. “If you really believe I’m lying, then why not just file a lawsuit? Why come to me to apologize? You know, deep down, that the surveillance footage from the research lab shows everything clearly. You’re afraid, and that’s why you’re acting like this.”
Sarah’s composure finally cracked. “You’re the one who ruined me. You admitted it just now!”
At that moment, one of Sarah’s supporters stepped forward, trying to back her up. “We all heard it too, Jennifer. You just admitted to hurting Sarah. We’ll testify if it comes to that.”
“Jennifer, don’t think just because you’re the family’s real daughter and Sarah’s only adopted, that you can treat her however you want. You’ve always been jealous of her looks, and now you’ve purposely scarred her.”

“Go ahead and post it,” one of Sarah’s supporters said. “I believe in Sarah, and I know she’s not like that. It’s all your scheme.”
“Fine, let’s wait and see. Once the video’s out there, the truth will be clear for all to see. Then let’s see how some people will continue to play the victim and make excuses.”
Panic rose within Sarah. What should she do now?
One of her sycophants spoke up, “Who knows where you got this doctored video from? No one will believe you. Who would trust such a fake?”
Sarah, hearing this, breathed a sigh of relief.
That was it–she would stick to the narrative that the footage was faked, and everything would be fine.
She turned to Jennifer, her voice full of accusation. “You’re fabricating evidence just to humiliate me, aren’t you? You just want to drive me out of the Hargreaves family.”

Jennifer couldn’t understand what had happened to Sarah. Had she really torn everything down with the Hargreaves family?
Sarah had always been smart, but now it seemed like she was exposing her true self because of her vanity and her injuries.
