Chapter 11
The explicit and degrading images flooded his phone, overwhelming him like a tidal wave. Parker’s eyes turned bloodshot, his teeth chattering uncontrollably.
It all became clear to him. Michelle had known all along. Every question she asked him had been with the answers already in her mind, but he had repeatedly lied to her.
After a long pause, Parker finally snapped out of his daze and immediately tried to message Michelle, but found she had already blocked him. Even his phone calls were met with the fact that Michelle had blocked his number.
The sensation of ants gnawing at his heart caused excruciating pain and Parker found

himself lost, like a child who had wandered into an unfamiliar place. Desperately, he cried out, “Michelle, where have you gone?”
In his sorrow, Parker suddenly recalled something Michelle had said in the past, something about going to the cemetery to bury something. At that time, he hadn’t taken it seriously, but now it seemed full of suspicion.
Michelle had always been afraid of the dark and she never went to the cemetery at night to put something, yet on that day, she had. In panic, Parker rushed to the cemetery on the mountain behind the house.
When he arrived, he was stunned to find that the grave of Michelle’s mother had been dug up, leaving only a hole in the earth with a box

placed inside it.
Parker shakily opened the box. Inside were the letters he had written to Michelle during their school days, photographs of their joyful dates and the engagement ring he had given her.
Each item was a piece of their shared love and memories. It dawned on Parker then, Michelle hadn’t just buried her mother’s grave. She had buried all the love she once had for him. She no longer loved him.
Suddenly, the sky turned dark with flashes of lightning and a torrential rain began to pour, making it impossible for Parker to tell
whether it was tears or rain on his face.
At that moment, his phone rang sharply, another call from Janet.

Parker’s anger flared as he recognized the
source of his torment. He gritted his teeth, his
eyes turning blood–red with a deep, chilling
rage.
It was all Janet’s fault! If she hadn’t told Michelle everything, Michelle never would have broken up with him. Janet … you damn woman! She deserved everything coming to her.
Fuming with wrath, Parker sped back to the hospital, driving recklessly straight to Janet’s
room.
When he burst in, the Smith couple, who had previously been frantic with worry, now looked at him eagerly, like they had found their last hope. They immediately rushed up to him with questions, “Have you found her?

Is she refusing to give Janet the kidney?”
Parker didn’t answer. He shoved Adele aside and grabbed Janet by the neck with force and shouted, “I told you never to tell Michelle about us, why can’t you listen? And you lied about having uremia, trying to manipulate Michelle into giving you her kidney. How could you be such an evil woman? Why can’t you just live a good life? Why did you have to provoke her?”
Parker’s rage surged to the point where he felt as though he might explode. He wanted
nothing more than to tear Janet apart.
Janet’s face quickly turned red as her airflow was cut off. Her survival instinct kicked in, causing her to strike desperately at Parker. But he wouldn’t relent.

“Such a misfortune! This is such a bad luck!”
Adele wailed, her heart shattered and her cries filled with anguish.
She and Mr. Smith rushed forward to stop Parker’s violence and only then did Janet manage to catch her breath. “Parker, how could you do this to me?” Janet’s eyes were filled with tears, her voice full of shock from the terrifying experience.
Adele hurried to comfort Janet, adding angrily, “Exactly! Michelle is the one who’s too afraid to die and ran away. What’s it got to do with Janet? Why hasn’t anyone blamed Michelle?”
