Chapter 4

After landing, I turned off airplane
mode, and my phone was inundated with messages and dozens of missed calls from Kevin.
I checked those messages and found they were all harsh questions.
Kevin: [HR said you submitted your resignation report today. What’s going on?]
Kevin: [Who allowed you to stamp it yourself? Do you have to make a big deal out of it just because I said something wrong?]
Kevin: [Come to the company now and

withdraw your resignation application right now. I will cancel it myself.]
An hour later, his tone became more
urgent.
Kevin: [Why is our house so empty? Where are your things?]

Kevin: [What the hell is going on with the divorce agreement on the table? You want to divorce me?]
Kevin: [Katrina, this is not something you can joke about. Come back and answer my phone to explain all of this shit to me!]
Before I finished checking all his messages, Kevin called me again.
Chapter 4
After answering his call, he roared as expected, “Katrina, come back and explain everything to me!”
I had to say it was rare to see him losing his temper.
His shout hurt my ears, and I put the phone away from them while taking a taxi.
Meanwhile, Kevin kept yelling on the phone, “I asked a lawyer to check the divorce agreement, and it’s a very formal one. You really mean it, right?”
Instead of responding, I showed the driver my destination on my phone.

Hearing the electronic mileage reminders on the cab, Kevin was stunned and then.

asked, “Are you in a taxi? Where are you going?”

After finally sitting down comfortably, I lowered the volume of the call and replied with self–composure, “I don’t think the place I’m going to has anything to do with you.”
He breathed a sigh of relief after hearing my voice and said, “What are you talking about? I’m your husband! Honey, I know what happened today might make you sad. Come back, and I will explain it to you.”
I felt so sick about hearing him calling my honey.
In the past, I tried to call him like that so sweetly in sexy lingerie.
. Chapter 4
But he reacted to that with a frown and
didn’t even want to look at me for one
more second.
Kevin, at that time, said with great disgust, “You’re almost in your thirties. Don’t you think it’s disgusting to say something like that?”

After that, I gave up calling him anything other terms of endearment than his first
name.
But I had heard Lindsay calling him honey before. All he did was pinch her nose with affection and allow her to sit on
his lap.
It was ridiculous to hear how he
addressed me just now.

Chuckling, I said coldly, “I said clearly that I don’t care whatever you do or say. If you have trouble reading a divorce agreement, find a lawyer to interpret it for you.”
Kevin’s voice began to quiver. “Katrina, you really made up your mind to divorce me?”
“Of course.” I said impatiently, “Okay, once you sign it, take a photo and send it to me. I have something else to do. Don’t call me again.”
After saying that, I directly hung up the phone and ignored all the calls from him.
Taking a day of rest in the new flat I rented in advance, I then reported to the

new company on time on Monday.
My colleagues and leaders were all very nice towards me; among those who smiled most happily was Rachel, as she kept nodding at me.
We met each other at a product launch event, and she particularly appreciated my design thinking.

When she learned that I was just a tiny employee in Kevin’s company, Rachel was. surprised and then sighed.
Later, Kevin’s company antagonized
Rachel’s, but she didn’t cut off our
relationship.
Rachel was the person who felt satisfied
with my entry most.

She held my hand and said with a frown, “Oh, look at you. You’ve lost a lot of weight since the first time I saw you. Is it because your husband didn’t take good care of you?”
I smiled and joked, “Rachel, I got divorced after getting married for a single day. I want to be a tough woman like you in the future.”
My divorce astonished Rachel, but she soon said to me with surprise, “I knew that brat is a scumbag, and so is his
assistant. It’s a good thing to get rid of the wrong man in your life. Let me take you to celebrate tonight and get you acquainted with your new colleagues.”
