But he didn’t reply to me until the next day.
“You’re already so grown up, even little children aren’t afraid of thunder, what are you pretending to be weak for!”
“Emilee’s water pipe broke at home, and as a girl, she couldn’t fix it herself. I was busy at the
time!”
Tears rolled down my face with a bitter smile.
Icouldn’t understand it no matter how hard I tried. The esteemed CEO, in the middle of the night, went to fix the water pipe for the secretary.
The past memories just flashed by quickly.
I closed my eyes and thought about what to bring tomorrow, after all, it’s an early flight and I can afford to be delayed.
The next day, I woke up two hours earlier.

“Today, the city experienced the largest thunderstorm with heavy rain. Your flight has been delayed and rescheduled for three days later. Do you agree with the change?”
I looked out of the window at the pouring rain and sighed.
It’s really unlucky, even when I wanted to leave, there was a thunderstorm to stop me.
Victor called back again. “Then let’s meet at the airport three days later, be there on time to pick me
up.”
Just hung up the phone, and there appeared a figure behind me.
Bentley furrowed his brow.
“Where did you want to go:
“Alicia, who were you talking to on the phone, and who picked you up at the airport?”

“Alicia, after giving birth, how about the three of us going on a month–long trip to Falconlake?”

“Alicia, I’m sorry, but I saw that Mr. Cowan was about to be late, so I came to pick him up at home. I hope you don’t mind, do you?”
My gaze fell on the key in her hand.

That was the only spare key in our house.
“Bentley, did you give the keys to Emilee?”
Bentley’s face showed a hint of discomfort as he casually explained.
“Emilee was my secretary. Last time, the documents were left at home, and it was inconvenient for me to go back and get them, so I gave them to her.”
“It’s not a big deal, Alicia. Let’s talk about it when I come back.”
He gave Emilee a look and the two of them walked out of the door, one in front of the other.
