Cliapter 4
Jonathon and Mia arrived at the police station.
As soon as I walked in, I heard people inside the police station discussing last night’s car accident.
I
The person who called the police is the owner of a small restaurant. He said he recognized the dress of the deceased, who came to his restaurant very late last night to get takeout, which was meant for her husband,” said a police officer.
Her husband had a weak stomach, and only when he ate their porridge would he not have
stomachaches.
“But it’s been a whole night, and her husband hasn’t found anyone yet,” another police officer said.
“The victim’s face is completely unrecognizable, there’s no way to identify her appearance. The phone is also completely crushed, and the SIM card is damaged. We can only wait for the phone to be repaired or for DNA verification.”
“Have you caught the culprit yet?” the police asked.
“We are still retrieving surveillance footage from across the city,” the police said. “Speaking of which, this culprit is quite skilled, as they managed to perfectly evade the traffic cameras, almost like they disappeared into thin air.”
“Could it be premeditated?” the police speculated.
“We had to wait for the forensic identification results to be determined before we could conduct a
thorough investigation.
I saw Mia trembling when I heard the police discussing it.
Jonathon, of course, also noticed her fear. He reached out and tightly held her hand, giving her comfort, saying, “Don’t be afraid.”
Mia nodded.
The two people walked in together.
“We came from the capital,” Jonathon said loudly.
Everyone at the police station was looking at them.
Jonathan said, “Last night, the culprit of the car accident was Mia.”
The police immediately verified Mia’s identity and took her into the interrogation room.
Jonathan was waiting for her outside.
My soul was always forced to follow Jonathon, wherever he went, I went.

Ar didn’t even know if this was really a punishment from God.
A hopeless romantic was not qualified to be reborn and start a new life.
He walked up to a police officer at that moment and inquired about the situation of the deceased, saying, “I just heard you say that no family members have come to claim the deceased yet?”
The police officer glanced at him.
Jonathon took out his lawyer’s license.
The police no longer concealed, “No, we are still waiting for DNA verification.”
“Wasn’t it said that the deceased went to buy porridge for her husband? Her husband didn’t even report it when she didn’t come back all night?!!
“Who knows?!” the police said sarcastically. “There are so many unfaithful men in the world, maybe her husband is now accompanying another woman. There is nothing surprising in this world, we are used to it.”
Jonathon nodded.
He had handled many cases, which was not surprising.
He said, “I am the lawyer of the perpetrator, and I hope that you will inform me as soon as possible after contacting her family. We will try our best to obtain forgiveness from the family.”
I floated in the air, feeling nothing but amusement.
He didn’t know yet that he was the deceased’s family member.
Still the only family member.
He would definitely forgive Mia.
After a brief inquiry, Jonathon went to the interrogation room to wait for Mia.
Mia was about to be arrested after completing the record.
Hitting and killing someone and then fleeing the scene constitutes a criminal offense.
But Jonathon vouched for her and, thanks to his long–standing relationship with the authorities,
she was able to quickly apply for bail.
That nigh
night, Mia left the detention center.
“Jonathon, can you come to my house?” Mia asked pitifully as Jonathon walked her back home.
“I’m scared to be alone.”
