Chapter 13
The diary ended here.
I saw tears streaming down Jonathon’s face, falling continuously, one after another.
The suppressed sobbing made him appear utterly sorrowful.
But I didn’t quite understand.
What was he suffering from?
Feeling guilty?
But in the end, he still signed a settlement agreement with Mia.
So what was this kind of regret considered?
I floated calmly in the air, watching Jonathon.
Apart from amusement, there was no other feeling.
I don’t know how long it has been.
Jonathon’s phone rang.
I saw his emotions gradually converging.
It was easy, and all the sadness toward me vanished completely.
Fortunately, I no longer had any expectations of him.
He answered the phone and resumed as usual, saying, “Hello.”
“Is it Mr. Quinn?”
“Who are you?”
“I have something on you. As long as you agree to be my defense lawyer for free and s…cessfully win the lawsuit, I promise that this thing will not be made public.”
“What on earth were you saying?”
“You would know once you saw it.”
The call was abruptly disconnected over there.
And then, after a while, there was a Line friend request.
Jonathon nodded in agreement.
The next moment, the other party sent a video over.
Jonathon opened the video.
Watching that video, I couldn’t help but find it a bit funny.
Is this what they call “The wheels of justice grind slow but exceedingly fine“?
What was captured in the video was the moment when Mia bumped into me that day.
It should have been taken in the dark.
The video began with me being knocked down to the ground by Mia for the first time.
The pain prevented me from getting up, and only the agonizing awareness made me constantly cry for help, “Save me, call an ambulance for me, please…”
“I cannot die, today is my husband’s birthday…”
“I wanted to celebrate his birthday with him…”
In the video, I was in extreme pain.
Mia came down from the driver’s seat, and the panic in her eyes suddenly calmed down when she
saw me.
“Sofia?”
I struggled to open my eyes and looked at her.
I saw the malice flash in her eyes.
“Heh,” she laughed, a cruel laughter, “This is what you brought upon yourself, Sofia.”
“What do you want to do?” I looked at her fearfully.
“Jonathon loved me, but he rejected me because he married you. If you had died, Jonathon and I could have been together.”
“No, it’s not like that… Please don’t kill me, please don’t kill me…”
“Sofia, I can only say that you had bad luck.”
After uttering a harsh remark, Mia got back into the car and ran over me, crushing my head under her tires until it was completely mangled.
Then, the video showed the scene where Mia was crying and seeking help from Jonathon.
And then, Jonathon arrived.
His heart and eyes were full of Mia, and he quickly took her away from the scene.
The video ended.
saw Jonathon tightly gripping his fist, exerting force.
But I couldn’t see any emotions.
I don’t know if I should be glad that such a video was in his hands instead of being directly given to the police.
Jonathan’s phone rang again.
He said cunningly, “As long as you agree to my conditions, I promise not to harm the person you like or make you an accomplice.”
Jonathan hung up the phone directly.
He did not speak.
It was generally tacitly accepted.
It was only the moral bottom line that made it impossible for him to speak out so quickly.
