Chapter 8
“And there’s one more thing, we found signs of pregnancy during Annabella’s autopsy, it had been over two months. Bradyn, you killed the person who loved you the most, and you also killed your
child.”
After saying this series of words, Darnell took off his glasses and wiped away the moisture that had
welled up in the corners of his eyes at some point.
Shaking his head, he left on his own, his figure dejected as he departed.
After being an apprentice for five or six years, it was the first time I saw a sense of decadence and lethargy in this spirited old professor.
Darnell left, leaving only Bradyn in the interrogation room.
The room was so quiet that it echoed when he spoke, “What’s the point of saying all this? Annabella can’t come back to life. Does he think saying these things will make me feel guilty? He’s
overthinking.”
In just five or six seconds, he painfully rubbed his head, messing up his hair.
“How is it possible? That night, Natalya and I were chatting on Line. How could Annabella’s whereabouts be exposed?”
Bradyn fell into deep contemplation, and as time went on, his face grew increasingly gloomy.
He remembered… He remembered it all…
That night, after I left in anger, he restlessly smashed everything in the house.
Just in time, Natalya messaged, “Bradyn, what are you doing?
How did he answer?
“We had an argument, feeling upset.‘
“1
“Don’t be in a bad mood, if there’s anything you can talk to Natalya about, I will help you relieve
your emotions.”
He didn’t come back either; he just threw his phone aside and buried his head to sleep.
Later, he was awakened by the ringing of the telephone. It was Natalya, and the voice of the girl on
the phone sounded helpless.
“Bradyn, I had a sprained ankle. Can you take me to the hospital, please?”
After registering at the hospital, the phone in the pocket buzzed.
Bradyn took out his phone and realized that it was I who had called. His expression became even

Inbre unpleasant.
Annabella seemed to be saying something about encountering danger on the phone, but at that time he was still angry with her. Additionally, seeing Natalya happily bouncing as she walked made him feel sorry for her, so he hastily dismissed Annabella.
More importantly, he didn’t believe that Annabella would encounter any danger.
She was so lucky, she couldn’t die.
Bradyn couldn’t believe it; she was really dead. And she indirectly died at his hands.
No, she died in his hands, along with their children.
Darnell was right, it was his unpredictable attitude toward Natalya all along that gave her hope, and It was also him who never truly understood his own heart.
That girl, who used to stick to him every day when she was young, had a temperamental personality.
If he could have caught that subtle heartbeat a little earlier and cherished her without any regrets, would the outcome have been different?
“Annabella, it was I who killed you, not Natalya.”
After realizing this thought, Bradyn’s eyes turned crimson in an instant. He lifted his head and then forcefully banged his head against the iron table.
Thumps after thumps, the sound of violent impacts echoed throughout the entire interrogation
room.
The police only subdued him after they heard the noise and came in.
Later, Natalya was sentenced to life imprisonment for intentional homicide, while Bradyn was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for harboring a criminal.
In the courtroom, the judge announced the sentences of the two individuals.
As he was being detained, Bradyn suddenly exerted a great force and broke free from the police who were detaining him.
Then, he raised the hidden dagger, which he had kept secret for an unknown period of time, and
stabbed Natalya heavily while she was still in a daze.
The tip of the knife was pulled out and inserted again, one after another, and in an instant, large patches of bright red liquid stained the white walls.
“Bradyn…”
Natalya had not yet grasped the enormity of the sudden change, staring at him with a blank

expression, her eyes filled with unwillingness, “You actually laid hands on me?”
“Yes, if it weren’t for you, none of this would have happened!”
“Damn it, that punishment was really terrible.”
The day Bradyn was imprisoned happened to be the same day my father was released after serving
his sentence.
When I left the prison, my father went to visit him.
The two of them gazed at each other from afar through a glass, a scene that was not unfamiliar to
them.
The only difference was that in the past, the person inside was my dad, but now the positions had
been switched.
At the moment of silent exchange, it was my father who spoke first.
“The matter of tax evasion and embezzlement is true, but I do not acknowledge the allegation of
drugging Natalya. Since I have already been released, if I didn’t do it, then I didn’t do it.”
“I had noticed a long time ago that she liked you, and I also noticed your feelings for Annabella.”
“What did you say?”
Bradyn looked at him in
stonishment when he heard the words.
My father just laughed, “You were a child from the orphanage, while she was the beloved young
lady from a wealthy family. She was bright and pure, possessing all the wonderful qualities that you
lack. Admit it, you were attracted to her even during your adolescence, you just didn’t realize it at
the time.”
“Later, even though you realized it, you didn’t dare to admit it because of your guilt toward
Natalya.”
“Bradyn, the real unfortunate person is not Natalya, who plans everything but gains nothing, nor
Annabella, who pursues love even if it means banging her head against the wall.”
The real pitiful person has always been you. You have never had family affection, and as for love,
even if you briefly had it, you destroyed it!
That day, after my dad came out of prison, Bradyn committed suicide by hitting the wall.
When the news of Bradyn, the once famous forensic doctor, committing suicide spread throughout Rosemist, it evoked a sense of sorrow from everyone. No one could have imagined that he would end up in such a tragic fate.
And my soul, along with the gradual desolation of this farce, slowly disperses into the sky.

That’s good, the pain of the world no longer tormented me.
In spring, the sophomore students of Rosemist Medical School organized a spontaneous event.
In front of my tombstone, there were arranged bunches of pale–colored daisies.
