Chapter 2
The next day, I arrived at the company early in the morning.
No matter how emotionally frustrated, work should not be delayed.
Due to my previous busy schedule taking care of Braydon’s life, I used to always be late when coming to the company. This time, my early arrival surprised the supervisor.
After the morning meeting, the supervisor called me over.
“Annie, there was an opportunity in the company to work in a foreign branch. I wanted to ask if you
were interested.”
I have always recognized your business ability, it’s just that I am worried about you…”
“I have always recognized your business ability; I am just worried about you…”
She didn’t finish her words, but I nodded directly and said, “Supervisor, I will cherish this opportunity given to me by the company.” “Huh?”
The supervisor didn’t expect that I would agree so quickly, and instead hesitated and asked in a low
voice, “I saw you throw away the flowers last night, did you have a fight with your husband?”
I shook my head with a smile.
Did you have an argument?
No, Braydon never used to argue with me.
He would only look at me with that indulgent gaze, as if he were looking at a stubborn child.
My phone suddenly vibrated twice, and when I looked down, I discovered it was Braydon calling.
His words remained gentle, but there was a hint of dissatisfaction.
“Are you busy today? Why did you leave without cooking for me?”
“Yesterday was our wedding anniversary, and I brought you a gift.”
I asked curiously, “What gift?”
“It is the small box in my coat, inside of which is a ring.”
He searched through his pockets, muttering to himself, “Strange, I can’t find it.”
Suddenly, he seemed to realize something and dryly explained, “Maybe it fell on the car, I’ll buy
you another one.”
I–forced a smile.

In the photo from yesterday, Lilian was wearing a ring on her hand.
Did he even need his little mistress to help try on our anniversary gift?
“No need, I also forgot to buy you a gift.”
“Annie? Are you angry? I really bought you a gift.”
“Um.”
1 gently responded.
“There’s nothing much, so I’ll hang up first. I’m busy with work.”
