Since that day, my relationship with Braydon has always been lukewarm.
A few days later, Braydon’s mother unprecedentedly invited me to have dinner at their house.
His mother never liked me and only approved of Lilian as her daughter–in–law.
I thought about it, but in the end, I still didn’t offend the old man.
When I arrived by taxi, Braydon’s mother, Kenley Hancock, was busy serving food with Braydon’s group of friends. As soon as they saw me, the room fell silent, and someone whispered a sentence.
“Why did you still call her? Later, Braydon wouldn’t let us drink with her again.”

Before long, Braydon followed Lilian as well.
I noticed that Lilian had taken off the ring on her hand. She walked to the kitchen with ease and started talking to Kenley.
Braydon, on the other hand, came over to me and proudly pulled out the ring like a treasure.
He lied without even blinking his eyes.
“I indeed forgot it in the car.”
Seemingly oblivious to my emotions, Braydon pulled me and slipped the ring onto my finger.
I stared at the ring and suddenly felt nauseous.
How many times did he actually tell such lies in the end?
“Oh, Lilian, let Annie handle this kind of thing. You are a guest, how can we let you do these things?”
In the kitchen, Kenley was looking at Lilian with a kind face, while Lilian was clinging to her arm and acting coquettishly.
“Kenley, I missed you.”
“Don’t you miss me coming to see you more often? I can tell you don’t have me and Braydon in your heart anymore.”
Kenley glanced at me and suddenly pulled Lilian over.
“By the way, Annie, I haven’t introduced you yet. Lilian is my adopted daughter, which means she is Braydon’s sister. You can rest assured about their relationship. So, when Braydon and Annie go out together in the future, you don’t need to check up on them. Don’t you trust Braydon’s character?”

She stood in front of me, her tone carrying a hint of command,
“Yeah, yeah, Annie, you’re always checking up on us, it’s really dampening my spirits. Look, all of us are decent people, we wouldn’t do anything bad with Braydon.”
“And besides, our company had just been established not long ago, so there were already many things to deal with. Who hasn’t gone through this during the start–up phase? What’s wrong with coming home late at night? Lilian even had to accompany a client to the hospital for a drink!”
“If they had any thoughts, they would have been together a long time ago, Annie, so don’t worry!”
The person who chimed in was Derrick Larsen, he was Braydon’s good friend, the biggest supporter of Braydon and Lilian, and also the one who previously forgot to block me on Timeline.
He always disliked me, and when he saw me being scolded by the elders, he immediately gloated and colluded with Kenley. I frowned.
“What company? What entrepreneurship?”
Wasn’t Braydon doing well at the company?
How did the small company suddenly come into existence?
Realizing that he had let slip, Derrick immediately shut his mouth, and the others also stopped
talking.
