- 11.
The elder never left his house.
If he was coming to talk to me, it had to be
important.
“What is it?” I asked.
He looked into the distance. “Your
grandfather was a famous fortune teller.
Г
He was never wrong.
People came from all over to see him.
When you were born, there was a huge storm.
I was taking in my laundry when I overheard
him telling your parents your fortune.
After he was done, he snapped.
He said he needed to kill you!”
“Your mom held you tight, and your dad kept
asking him why.”
“He said you were cursed. He couldn’t let you
live.”
く
“But your parents wouldn’t let him.”
“He ran out of the house and never came
back.”
“I knew it was a family matter, so I never said
anything.”
“But now your parents and your fiance are
dead. I think it might be connected.”
“I saw your grandfather a few years ago, up
in the hills.”
“If you want answers, you should go talk to
him.”
I was shocked.
L
I never knew my grandfather.
“Aren’t there wild animals up there?” I asked.
“I can’t imagine him living up there by
himself.”
The elder looked serious. “Your grandfather is
not a normal man.
The animals are scared of him.
My son went up there and got lost.
I broke my leg looking for him.
I thought I was going to die.
Your grandfather saved me and helped me
find my son.
<
He should know why all of this happened to
your family.”
I thanked the elder.
Then I went to the hills to find my
grandfather.
