Darrell didn’t return home that night either. I welcomed peace.
As I packed my things, I suddenly received a cash–on–delivery package. Without thinking, I signed for it and paid.
Opening the box, I found S–size QQ
underwear… and a few boxes of condoms.
Holly‘ s phone rang exactly on time, as if it had been set in advance.
“Oh, I received a package at home. Can you help me sign for it?”
“This is something Mr. Thornton personally selected. Don‘ t open it casually, or I’ll get very shy”

I called him, and the call was answered quickly.
“Let’s have dinner together when you get back this evening.”
Darrell’s voice was lazy, slightly
disdainful, as if he had just woken up.
“Hmph. You walked out so confidently yesterday. I thought you were capable, but now you’ve given up?”
I didn’t respond to his sarcasm, and Darrell’s tone softened.
“Okay, I’ll take Holly with me tonight.”
“Brother, who are you talking to? Let’s do it again, okay?”
“I’m not like Alex. I’m young and healthy–it’s easy to get pregnant…‘

a hurry, I could still hear Holly’s sweet, alluring voice.
…Was she no longer avoiding me?
It’s true that it’s difficult for me to get pregnant. But if it meant having a child with someone like Darrell, it might be better not to have one at all.
That evening, I ordered takeout from the
restaurant.
Darrell and Holly returned home as promised.
Before I even saw them, they were holding hands, acting so affectionately.
I pretended not to notice.
Darrell kept feeding me throughout dinner.
“Alex, your cooking is getting better and better.”
“Before, we couldn’t even get enough to eat at home, and I was so skinny. Fortunately, I met my wife, who takes such

Darrell smiled and gently brushed a stray hair from my eyes. He didn’t mention what had happened the day before. It was as if nothing had happened.
Maybe he knew how shocking it was to bring a mistress to a family dinner.
“Thank you for your hard work, my wife. When this period is over, I’ll take you to Paris, where you‘ ve always wanted to go,
for a vacation.”
I nodded lightly, letting his words pass without much thought. I even forgot our wedding anniversary. What do promises.

Holly covered her mouth and laughed. “I don’t want other people’s charity. I prefer to earn things through my own strength.”
A faint trace of discomfort flickered across
Darrell’s face.

felt embarrassed?
Suddenly, Holly winced in pain, clutching her stomach.
“Oh, it hurts… Alex, why are there shrimp in the dishes?”
Darrell jumped up, supporting the shaky Holly with a tense expression.
His face turned dark.
“Holly is allergic to seafood–didn‘ t you know that? You did it on purpose today, didn’t you?”
