He thought I would run to him and hug him.

“Thank you for coming to my celebration. I
wouldn’t have been able to do it without my
business partners. What I’m most grateful for
is my strength.”
I looked at Chad and said, “I also want to
thank myself for having the courage to give
up a bad relationship and get rid of the scum
who almost killed me. Now I can laugh at the
sorry state he’s in. Everyone in this room
needs to remember his face so you don’t end
up with him.”
Chad was distraught. He grabbed his parents
and left.
Later, I decided to expand the business
overseas.
