The doctor told me I couldn’t leave.
I stayed at the hospital to recover.
I didn’t hear from Mark the next day either.
He must have been too busy with Lily.
I contacted the private investigator I had hired
to gather information on Mark’s infidelity.
“Don’t worry Mrs. Bennett, we’re on the case!
You will get your money’s worth.”
My nurse’s aid, Jenny, started talking about
hospital gossip.
“Oh Mrs. Bennett, these young people are out
of their minds these days.”
“Right now, I just saw a couple in the
emergency room! What a scene. It was so

gross.

“My cousin’s nephew works in the ER, he said
that they were playing too rough and had to be
pulled apart.”
She was complaining as she set up my dinner.
“The guy is a CEO, the woman is his secretary.
Look at him, he looks so normal!”
I saw the picture, and it was Mark.
I decided to call my Pl.
“Mrs. Bennett, we have been following them!
You’ll be pleased.”
Jenny, looked surprised.
“Mrs. Bennett, is that your man?”
She rubbed her hands and smiled.
“I hate men who cheat, so you know I had to do
something!”
I raised my eyebrows, motioning her to keep
going.
“I like taking videos to remember my daily life.
It just so happens that, I got the video of those
two getting out of the ambulance!
“I was in the second floor so no one saw me,
and I got a good look at their faces.”

I paid Jenny 100k for the video, and she was
happy.
“Mrs. Bennett, what comes around goes
around!”
Then I called the police.

The police went to the club to collect evidence,
and I also showed them my medical report.
Since it was a domestic dispute, Mark might
only be held for a few days.
I had to sue him.
Mark was still at the hospital so the cops
couldn’t take him away.
I had time to gather even more evidence.
I talked to a lawyer to get a divorce and clear
our assets.
I wouldn’t give them a cent.
As I was making plans, Mark was in his own
little world.
He thought he had gotten away with it.
When Mark got out of the hospital, I had
already started moving things out of the house.
All of our old photos, the wedding photos, the
love letters he had written me.
く
When he got home, he started looking for me,
angrily.
“Shawna, you have been out of control. I just
wanted you to clean up your pee, but you called
the cops?”
“Are you sick? What about my reputation? You
even faked your medical report, if you don’t go
to the police right now we’re getting a divorce.”
When he saw the empty walls, he stopped,
shocked.
“Where are our wedding photos?”
I turned to him and said.
“I threw them away, made space for your
girlfriend.”
When he saw my stomach he went white.
“Wife, where is our kid?”
