I touched my empty stomach.
“Thanks to you, the kid is dead.”
“Killed by her own father.”
Mark stumbled backward.
“No, you’re lying. You’re still mad, aren’t you?”

He got excited and ran to me.

“I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t know you were really
in labor.”
“I’m a man, and it was so embarrassing, you
peeing yourself in front of everyone. Please
forgive me!”
“Where is the baby? I wanna see my baby.”
Mark ran excitedly into the nursery.
He opened the door, but it wasn’t the beautiful
room we had set up together.
It was a small altar, with an urn in the middle
and the sonogram pictures of our daughter.
Mark panicked and screamed.
“That can’t be right, the doctor said my kid was
healthy. How did she die?”
“You’re lying, you’re doing this to get back at
me!”
I laughed at him.
“Do you remember that night I called you? You
didn’t listen, that’s why our kid died.”
“When our daughter and I were almost dead,
you were with another woman.‘

“Mark, you are not a man.”
Mark stared blankly at me, he still couldn’t
believe it.
“That can’t be right, how could she die?”
He tried to touch my stomach, but I backed
away.
“Don’t touch me, you’re disgusting.”
I handed him the divorce papers.
“I have a lot of evidence, you were cheating on
- me. You get 30% of our assets, I get 70%.”
Mark’s breathing got fast, he was shocked.
“You wanna divorce me?”
“Our kid died, and you don’t want me either?”
He was a mess, trying to justify his actions. “Honey, please don’t let a small mistake ruin
- us. We’ve been together for seven years! We’ve
always helped each other.”
“I was lost, can’t you give me a chance?”
“I promise I’ll fire Lily, I’ll be yours and yours
only, okay?”
It was too late.
I just answered coldly.
“Isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”

“No, I just wanted you to realize that family is
important! I wanted you to quit your job and be
a happy wife, I was using Lily to make you
jealous. I only love you!”
I laughed at him.
“You let them call her “The Mrs.“, you let her
humiliate me. You slept with her. If that’s your
love, then you’re disgusting.”
“You know I’m an orphan, you know that I’m
pregnant, you know I need love. That’s why you
hurt me, you know I have no family, no place to
go but you.”
“Your love makes me sick!”
Mark’s voice was shaking, and he held his head
with his hands.
“How did this happen? Why? I didn’t want to
hurt you!”
Looking at him I was emotionless.
“Sign it! If you don’t, you’ll mess up your
company, sign it now!”
Mark had no other choice.
He kept avoiding me, trying to change my mind.

It had been a month, then the paparazzi started releasing old photos of him and Lily making out.
I was releasing new evidence every day he tried to hold on.
His company’s stocks started to go down, so
he finally gave up.
When I met him, he was a mess.
