The doors to the ICU opened.
Brittany was brought out.
She wasn’t awake.
The doctor said Brittany had radiation.

Chad stayed by Brittany’s bedside.
He held her hand, and looked at their wedding
ring.
He then saw all the scars, on her arm, and on
her leg.
In only five months, he had caused her so much
pain.
His phone vibrated.
[Boss, the mountain was previously the site of a
factory, and there was a chemical spill which
resulted in high radiation. The manager covered it up.]
[Also, I found out the factory was owned by the Zhou family.]
[Okay, got it!]
Chad grabbed his phone, and his knuckles
turned white.
He looked at Brittany and hated himself.
At night, Brittany still wasn’t awake.
Tiffany called, sounding upset.
“Honey, I have a stomach ache. Are you still at
the hospital? Could you please come home and drive me to the hospital?”
“Enough! Why are you still lying?”

Then, he hung up the phone, and covered his
face.
Doctors came into the room and told him not to
get close to Brittany because of the radiation.
Chad didn’t listen.
He stayed by her side.
Two days later, Chad started showing
symptoms.
He felt nauseous, but he brushed it off, because
he always had a stomach ache.
Then, he collapsed.
He woke up in a hospital bed.

The doctor told him not to go near Brittany.
Then, Chad heard screaming.
Tiffany ran in, crying, and hugged Chad.

He punched her, and kicked her.

A lot of blood was spilled, but Chad knew it
wasn’t even as much as Brittany had lost.
He went to Brittany.
She was still unconscious.
