Chapter 4 Ex–boyfriend
Stephen, nearly collapsing, cursed me out loud at the scene.
I heard it all clearly during the livestream hosted by the wedding planner.
Right before I was about to board the plane, I had the wedding planner play that video.
At that moment, Stephen hadn’t even left the reception hall yet. His parents had just gotten the news and rushed over from the back, bumping into Bonnie’s mother, who had come just in time for the wedding.
Stephen’s mom and Bonnie’s mom had been at odds for years, and when they saw each other, it was like oil and water. Without a word, Stephen’s mom slapped Bonnie’s mom across the face.
Meanwhile, the video in the background had already shown Stephen and Bonnie in the car, with the footage clearly revealing them making love.
The room went dead silent.
When the wedding planner saw that everyone had mostly watched, he hurriedly came out and apologized, saying, “I’m really sorry. I played the wrong video.”
Although we had received a warning from the police, nothing

serious happened.
But Stephen and Bonnie’s reputations? Completely ruined.
To make Bonnie’s humiliation even more thorough, I had personally invited some of her relatives in my name, telling them they didn’t
need to bring any gifts, just come to eat.
So they showed up early but sat far away.
Still, they could see the footage on the big screen.
I wasn’t just giving them embarrassment. I was making sure they saw it in high–definition.
As soon as Bonnie saw the video, she fainted and had to be carried out.
Stephen, who had been so arrogant before, completely shrank into silence after seeing the video.
While he was being put into the police car, he even sent me a message asking where I was.
I immediately blocked him and deleted him before boarding the plane abroad.
During the 13–hour flight, I reflected on those six years.
Most of the time, it had been me pursuing Stephen.
Our college relationship had led to this point, and all I could do

was sigh about how I had misjudged him back then.
I pulled out my phone and snapped the couple’s card that Stephen and I had gotten together.
I deleted all the few photos I had with him.
As I was scrolling through, I came across an old memo I had written.
It clearly listed all of Stephen’s likes and preferences and also described how I felt every time we were together.
All the innocent thoughts of a young girl were written between the lines.
At first, Stephen had pursued me, and I hadn’t been that into him.
But as time passed, I found myself falling deeper, while he always kept a constant place in his heart for Bonnie.
It was a place I could never surpass or replace.
I deleted each word, one by one, from the memo.
When I reached the last page, I could clearly see how desperately I had once wished to marry Stephen.
Then, when I thought back to my insignificant wedding, my hands began to shake uncontrollably.

Every word, every sentence, felt so hard to delete.

But once I had cleared it all, it was like those six years vanished along with it.
When I got off the plane, the company representative was already waiting with a sign in hand.
He was hiding behind the crowd, but I could see his hand holding a sign with my name on it.
I could only see a hand wearing a watch behind the crowd.
I walked over, and he immediately called my name.
“How… Is it really you?”
Keith White pointed at the work badge hanging around his neck.
“I had no choice. Now, I’m your direct supervisor.
“By the way, ex–girlfriend, I heard you got married?”
I shook my head.
We didn’t get a certificate, and I didn’t even attend the wedding. How could that be considered marriage?
After I briefly explained the situation, Keith nodded as if he understood everything.
I turned on my new phone, and a message popped up on
