Joe was all googly–eyed, watching Amy. He
turned back to her, ready to run over and start
talking..
I grabbed his arm. “Let’s go. Our parents are gonna be worried sick.”
He gave me a look, but he let me pull him
along.
He didn’t see Amy’s expression change as we
walked away. The innocent act was gone, and
she had this look that could chill you to the
bone.
