A bunch of people rushed in.
Leading the pack was Jason Sterling, Sr.
himself.
Jason Jr. took his foot off my leg and hurried
over. “Dad! What’s going on?”
Sterling Sr. slapped Jason Jr. across the face.
“You idiot! Why are you treating Lia like
this?”
Jason Jr. went down on one knee. “She’s

came back for the money, and that’s it.”
Hearing their words, my heart felt like it was
being stabbed.
“You say I came back for money. Have you
given me a dime in five years?”
“You say you gave me the good life? How
many meals did I have with this family? Did
you buy me anything?”
My eyes burned.
In five years, my parents hadn’t given me
anything.
I lived in the basement, and I only had one
meal with them.
Ashley said she was allergic to my smell and I
was banished from the dinner table.
My words surprised my parents. Chad glared
at me.
Ashley walked up, looking sad. “I know you want to marry Jason, and you want everything
