Then I looked at Tiffany, who was just
startled, and Ryan was holding her tight and
making sure she was okay.
<
It was all just so ironic.
1
The guy who used to treat me like a princess, who promised to be with me forever.
The guy who was supposed to marry me in three months.
How could he suddenly change his mind?
Chapter 3
After he calmed Tiffany down, Ryan looked at me. “I know you’re not happy that I’m
marrying her and having a baby without telling
you. You can take it out on me. I should have told you sooner.”
く
“But you can’t hurt Tiffany. She’s already had
a rough life, and she’s been so brave.”
“She just asked me for the chance to be a
mom, okay? Why does she deserve your
anger?”
He pointed at me. “You need to apologize to
her right now!”
I tried to stay calm.
“What did I do wrong?” I asked.
“What did I do wrong?”
Ryan stared at me.
“It’s okay, Ryan. Even though I almost fell
L
“I don’t blame Chloe. And she doesn’t need to
apologize.”
“You two are still getting married. I don’t want
you to fight because of me.”
Ryan sighed and said, “You’re too good,
Tiffany. You’re way too good for me.”
He glared at me. “You’re just jealous of Tiffany. You can’t stand that she’s doing
better than you.”
“I’m not going to make you apologize since
Tiffany spoke up for you.
“But if you ever hurt her again, you’ll regret
it.”
He picked up Tiffany and said to me with this
look of disappointment, “You’re not as good
as your sister.”
I was alone in the living room.
I just watched the leaves falling outside.
Then I crouched down and started crying.
One last time…
This was the last time I’d cry over Ryan.
That afternoon, Ryan posted on Instagram.
It was a set of nine photos.
The photos were of different spots in the
house.
く
The caption read: “I picked out every room,
every piece of furniture, everything. I just
want my baby to have a cozy home.”
People were commenting with
congratulations.
“Congrats on the baby, Ryan!”
“Ryan and Chloe are having a baby!
Congrats!”
“You’re so lucky to have a great husband like
Ryan! Jealous!”
“I’m skipping a million–dollar deal to be at
your wedding in three months!”
When the comments were full of well–wishes,
Tiffany jumped in and said, “Don’t get the
wrong idea, everyone. This isn’t Ryan’s house.
It’s mine.”
Everyone went quiet.
I broke the silence and commented, “Three’s
a crowd. I’m out. Congrats to you both.”
Then I logged off and didn’t care what they
said.
I just deleted Ryan and Tiffany off my friends
list.
A couple minutes later, Ryan called me.
“Chloe, are you done making a scene?”
“I’m not making a scene.” I said calmly.
く
រ
“You’re trying to make Tiffany look like the
other woman!” Ryan said angrily.
“Are you only happy if you can make her look
like some home wrecker?
“If you keep saying things like that, we’re not
getting married!”
I listened to him yell, but I didn’t feel anything.
“Ryan, why would I want something that’s
already been used?”
