“I got a designer to make a wedding dress for
you. After I take care of some things, I’ll come
back and marry my beautiful bride.”
I thought Ryan would give me my first dress.
But it was Sam.
I waved.
He was my childhood friend.
It felt good.
One day, I came out of the hotel and saw
Ryan.
His clothes were messy.
He was dead inside.
<
He saw me and his eyes lit up.
“I…I couldn’t find you, so I tracked you down.”
“What do you want?” I asked.
“Chloe, I was wrong. Tiffany tricked me.”
Ryan said, “I looked at her phone. I know now.
She lied about being sick. She tricked me into
giving her the house. She lied about your
mom. She ruined your necklace…”
“It doesn’t matter anymore,” I said.
Ryan stuttered.
“Chloe, give me one more chance. I’ll be good
to you.”
“My wedding is in two days. I’m marrying
Sam.”
Chapter 9
His face turned white.
“No, you wouldn’t do that! You’re lying!”
He was screaming.
The security guards grabbed him.
I didn’t feel bad.
We were nothing.
I heard later that Ryan had sued Tiffany.
Tiffany was begging him but he didn’t care
L
Tiffany asked my mom for help.
But my mom kicked her out.
Tiffany took a knife and tried to stab her.
But the maid stopped her.
Tiffany fell and had a miscarriage.
I didn’t care.
My wedding was coming.
Sam came back with the dress.
He had everything ready for the wedding.
I was touched.
く
I was going to marry him for the money.
But now, I realized Sam was a good guy.
I was starting to like him.
I was in the makeup chair.
Someone opened the door.
It was my mom and Ryan.
“Chloe, I came to apologize,” my mom said.
She said, “I was a bad mom.
“I didn’t love my own daughter. I got a bad
person.”
“Can you forgive me?”
く
I let the makeup artist leave.
“Why were you always so mean?”
My mom said, “If you hadn’t wanted ice
cream that night, your dad wouldn’t have
gone out. He wouldn’t have died!”
“He was our rock. I blamed you. Every time I
saw you, I thought you killed him.”
Now I knew.
That was why she hated me.
She blamed me.
