Chapter 19
After the “Sparkle” project ended, all project participants returned to Cashury.
Returning to the city she had been away from for a long time, Kendra felt a sense of detachment as she looked at the increasingly bustling city streets
She had stayed at the deserted frontier research base for five years and had become accustomed to the dry and scorching weather. At first, she was a little unaccustomed to the cool autumn days in Basinbourne.
After getting off the plane, the group boarded the car sent by Springbell University, preparing to return to the school.
Kendra took a seat in the back row by the window.
Before long, Mr. Pratt walked up to her and patted her shoulder.
“Kendra, what were your plans when you came back?”
Looking at this teacher who had changed the trajectory of her lile, Kendra was filled with gratitude.
“Mr. Pratt, over the past five years, I have learned a lot and also realized my own shallowness. So, after the recently arranged itinerary and seminar are
ever, I want to retum to school to continue my studies.”
Although she spoke modestly, Mr. Pratt still acknowledged her insatiable thirst for knowledge and showed an appreciative look
“This project has ended, and there should be many institutions and colleges extending an olive branch to you, right? I am pleased to see that you can stay true to yourself and continue your studies despite the temptations of fame and fortune. I have watched you grow up and I admire your perseverance and determination to constantly improve. However, I also hope that while pursuing your limits, you don’t push yourself too hard. Family, friends, and loved ones are all important parts of life, and you should also take care of your real–life responsibilities.”
Kendra knew that Mr. Pratt was doing it for her own good.
But after going through that now seemingly childish love, she completely grew up.
For her now, emotions were no longer the main theme of life.
Through “Sparkle,” she saw the distant and mysterious universe, had a broader career, and had grander ideal goals.
She wanted to have a conversation with the universe,
Although this wish was so unrealistic, now that humans have landed on Mars, what is impossible?
She wanted to challenge the impossible.
Not as Kendra personally, but as the entire human race.
Initiate a conversation with the unknown universe.
After checking in at the hotel, Kendra and her colleagues had dinner and then went back to their rooms.
She opened the box, took out the daily necessities, and was about to freshen up when her phone rang with a ding–dong sound.
University roommates, family members, and even the teachers who have always taken care of her, all sent greetings and congratulations,
After she replied one by one, she suddenly saw a new friend request.
Kendra, can we talk?”
With just one glance at the profile picture and name, Kendra knew who it was
Erick
When thinking of this person again, she neither remembered the past nor had any emotional fluctuations.
It felt calm, as if the person across from me was not my ex–boyfriend from five years ago, but just an Insignificant stranger
She felt that she had nothing to talk to him about and didn’t want to waste any more time on him.
So she did not pass this verification and went into the bathroom with h
her pajamas.
After taking a shower, she relaxed completely, lying on the soft bed. Soon, she felt drowsy and fell into a deep sleep.
Kendra had a dream
In the dream, she turned into a shooting star and, under the pull of gravity, strolled through the dazzling and vast galaxy.
Above her head was the universe of stars she chased.
And now, it was the Earth that she relled on for her livello.
Chapter 19
Although a sense of loneliness suddenly arose due to the unknown silence.
But she knew that she was completely free.
