Chapter 6:
LYRA
Wiping my face, I went to my drawer and brought out a locket that was identical to the one I gave Ragnulf.
Then I climbed into bed and opened the locket.
Unbeknownst to Ragnulf, his pendant had been bewitched to reveal everything he does through my locket. All I have to do is open it and I’ll see and hear what he does.
I watched him ride a horse to an Inn, where he bought some chicken wings before going upstairs to a room and knocking
“Who is it?” came Jeanette’s voice and when Ragnulf answered, she said she didn’t want to see him.
“I bought chicken wings, just the way you like it.”

Chapter 6:
Her feet could be heard, stomping across the room, and when she opened the door, she was dressed in nothing but a shirt that was unbuttoned and which revealed her naked body.
“You just made me very horny.” She said in a fake barbie voice and Ragnulf chuckled before kissing her and touching her breasts.
“I have missed you.” He said as he use one foot to close the door and pushed her gently into the room.
“Oh please! With the way you yelled at me today, it’s obvious you care about that barren skank in your house.”
My hand raised to my mouth in shock.
Me? A barren skank?
I thought my heart wouldn’t break again. I thought I had seen and heard it all but this revelation hurt so bad like a punch to the heart.

Chapter 6:
It hurt even worse when I heard Ragnulf laugh at her words.
“Come on. I had to put on a show okay?” He chuckled as he sucked on her nipple.
“For how long?”
“Not for long.” He answered, kissing her chest. “Very soon, I’ll introduce you to everyone as my mate.”
“Good. Can’t wait to be Luna.”
The next day during lunch, I sat at the long lunch table where I usually sit to eat with high ranking officials and their wives or mates. I was having a light–hearted conversation as usual, waiting as the table was served and for Ragnulf to show up.
To my annoyance, Jeanette showed up at the table and took a seat opposite me and close to Ragnulf’s seat.
I froze just as the table quieted down and all eyes laser–focused on her.

Chapter 6
“Did you miss your way?” The Gamma‘ s wife asked. “This is a table for high ranking officials. What gave you the audacity to sit here?”
Jeanette simply flicked her hair behind her, and poured herself a cup of water. “My mate is a very high–ranking official. I have a right here because of him. You all should watch how you speak to me.”
“And you should watch how you speak to us.” One of the men said. “The only other high ranking officials you could possibly be with is The Alpha or his Beta and since the Alpha is married, that leaves. Enzo. Just because he outranks us by a smidge doesn’t mean you get to be arrogant.”
“I wasn’t being arrogant.” Jeanette countered. “I was minding my business. and you decided to make a fuss.”
The man snarled but his wife touched him
to keep calm.

Chapter 6:
“Enzo’s mate or not, that’s not where you‘ re supposed to sit. That chair belongs to the Beta, only he can sit opposite the Luna.”
“Oh really?” She said, with a
disinterested voice but she made no effort
to move.
The man who snarled earlier, rose to his feet and in a few moves, he drew Jeanette’s chair back forcefully and gripped her by the hair.
“Get your hands off me!” She yelled and tried to fight back but the man was firm.
“You are mannerless and you don’t belong here. I am kicking you out!”
Just as he tried to drag Jeanette from her seat, Ragnulf walked in and when he realized what was happening, his eyes turned red and his face twisted in anger.
“Get the fuck away from her!”
