Donna had been in the hospital for two months before the bandages on her body were gradually removed. Her face was even more terrifying than mine in my previous life. It was as if it had been dissolved by sulfuric acid, with no part left unscarred.
I went to the hospital to visit her again, carrying some gifts, ready to give her a “surprise“.
After this incident, Donna had seen the true nature of Yohan and Susan, and she treated me a bit more amicably.
I sat by her bedside and peeled an apple for her. She turned her head aside, not wanting me to see her face.
I said, “Mrs. Donna Coleman, you still need to look ahead. Even though Susan won’t be punished, she’ll surely get her comeuppance.”
Donna suddenly turned her head to stare at me. “What do you mean? Aren’t the police dealing with this matter?”
“Don’t you know that?” I pretended to be shocked.
Donna said, “Of course I don’t. The police haven’t contacted me these days. What exactly is going on?”
I put on a reluctant expression. “Well, I’d better not say. Let Yohan tell you himself.”
Her expression contorted. She had some ideas in her mind but wasn’t certain yet. She could only grab my hand. “Tell me right now.”
I said, “All right, but don’t get angry. Yohan was just being muddle–headed and got married. to Susan. He even went to the police station to issue a letter of understanding. This matter is over
now.”
Donna kept shaking her head, muttering, “No way. No way.”
“Maybe there’s some misunderstanding. After all, Yohan is your son, and he must have your
interests at heart,” I said.
Donna was completely lost in her thoughts. She picked up the phone on the bedside cabinet, ready to confront Yohan face–to–face. Seeing that my task was accomplished, I prepared to
leave.
However, I didn’t go far. Instead, I stayed nearby to watch the show.
Yohan hadn’t realized that his lie had been exposed and came over cheerfully.
What greeted him was Donna’s “loving slaps“.
Crisp slaps resounded one after another in the ward, and hearing them made me feel a
wave of satisfaction.
“You’re such an ungrateful man,” shouted Donna.
Yohan covered his swollen face, looking aggrieved. “What did I do wrong for you to hit me like
this?”
Donna questioned, “Did you get married to Susan and write a letter of understanding? No

Yohan narrowed his eyes. Since the matter couldn’t be hidden anyway, he might as well Cadmit it now rather than keep denying it.
He said, “Yes, Susan is my wife now. Whether you accept it or not, I’m going to be with her. What happened to you was just an accident. None of us wanted this outcome. Why can’t you be more forgiving?”
“How can I be forgiving? I’m your mother. Look at me. Look at my face! I’ve been hurt like this. How could you still expect me to be forgiving?” Donna frantically held Yohan’s face, forcing him to look at her battered body.
The wounds on her face had just started to grow some bright–red tender flesh. But in some places, there were still black scabs. At first glance, it was truly horrifying.
Seeing Yohan’s evasive eyes, Donna felt sad, thinking, “If even my son can’t bear to look at my Tace, what is the point of me living?”
Yohan broke free from her hands and took a few steps back. “The matter is settled now. In the future, Susan and I will take good care of you and arrange surgeries for you. You should be more lenient and stop being so unreasonable.”
Donna grabbed the vase on the table and threw it at him. “Get out! Take Susan away and get out of my sight! Stay far away from me!”
Yohan, scratched by the shards, didn’t dare to linger and left without looking back.
