The day I was released from the hospital, Ben
showed up with Tiffany.
“Jo, I brought Tiffany here to say sorry. We
messed up. Can we please not get a
divorce?”
Tiffany looked like she was going to throw up.
She was glaring at me but didn’t dare say
anything in front of Ben.
I didn’t say a word.
Ben panicked, and stepped away from
Tiffany:
“Jo, my dearest wife, please believe me. I
L
love you, I only love you, I love you the most.”
I
I snorted. “You’re so full of it.”
I showed him my chat logs with Tiffany. There
were countless photos and videos.
Ben cooking meals for Tiffany, sewing her
clothes, washing her feet, kissing her all
over…
Scrolling up, Tiffany’s first message to me
read:
“Ben only married you because I wasn’t
there!”
“If I was around, you wouldn’t stand a
chance!”
I was exhausted. “You memorialized her with
our wedding. Why didn’t you just marry her
then?”
く
Ben was ashen.
While Ben was stalling the divorce, Tiffany
came to my place once.
“Ben and I grew up together. If it wasn’t for
you we’d already be married!”
I smirked at her words, then pulled up a
picture from her social media.
A simple bracelet with a red string was clearly
visible on Ben’s wrist.
My fingertip traced it over and over.
“Do you know where he got this from?” I
asked her.
“When Ben was just starting his company, he
was targeted. Someone sabotaged his car. He
had an accident.”
く
“I shielded him with my body and got this
scar on my hand. But I was really worried, so I
stayed at a temple for a month, and made
this bracelet.”
“Do you think that if he divorces me, even if
he ends up with you, he won’t remember all
the things I’ve done for him?”
Tiffany’s mouth was opening and closing but
no words came out.
She knew it, Ben would think of her while he
was with me, then he would think of others
when he was with her.
I knew it, there were never any winners in
love. I just wanted everyone to be miserable.
I put on my sunglasses. “If he doesn’t divorce
me, you’ll be the one doing time.

I turned and walked away.
Whether Ben wanted a divorce or not was up
to him.
I would still get what I wanted.
