“Maybe good morning!”

Luc’s eyes flickered with rage as he clenched his teeth, “You! You said you knew already, didn’t you?”
Emma responded lightly. “” did say that I knew, but I didn’t mention I would be coming back last night”
Luc growled. “So are you planning not to come back?”
“Work’s been hectic lately, living in the hospital dorm saves me time commuting.”
Emma had been busy with preliminary tasks for a major medical mission
Rubbing his forehead, Luc suddenly asked, “Are you annoyed that I didn’t let you ride in my car?”
Emma paused slightly, “No, you’re overthinking.”
That was the truth she used to feel a bit bothered by it, a minor resentment. It felt strange for a married couple not to share the same ride to work—one commuting by subway, the other driving. This led to countless discussions behind their backs at the hospital but now, she felt at peace. It seemed like an event from a lifetime ago, no longer significant.
it’s the weekend today, and I remember asking if you’d like to see a movie. I have time today; this offer is only good for once! Please buy the tickets in advance and send me the address!”
Emma chuckled on the other end, “Thank you for your kind offer”
I’m sorry, but while you may have time, I don’t. I have things to take care of here. I’m going to hang up now.”
Lisa should be back soon from buying breakfast. She didn’t want Lisa to overhear this conversation and start having wild thoughts. Once she returned, she’d probably find the divorce papers waiting for her. She just had to stay patient a little bit longer.
Luc was stunned. He had taken the initiative to ask her to watch a movie, but she didn’t have time.
It’s the weekend, what was she so busy with? A hint of anger flickered in his deep, dark eyes.
He clenched his fist, slowly letting go before returning to the living room
Never mind, there was no need. She was just an insignificant person!
What a mistake, he thought. He felt guilty for attending the concert without her and wanted to make it up by inviting her to a movie, only to realize she
wasn’t interested
Luc handed his phone back to Mayline and sulked upstairs. He quickly brushed thoughts of Emma aside. As for Jake’s invitation to play golf on Saturday with Grey, Jeremy, and Matt, he had hesitated before but now decided to go. After breakfast, he called Jake and said, “See you at half past ten!”
After breakfast, Lisa and Emma tidied up, preparing for a class reunion. Lisa helped Emma with her appearance, applying light makeup to enhance her features. The rosy dawn glow reflected on Emma’s skin, smooth and radiant; her long eyelashes framed bright, almond shaped eyes, sparkling like stars Her slegant nose and cherry lips added to her allure
Dressed in a gentle sky–blue knee–length dress, her long legs were fully exposed. A pair of stylish heels added an extra hint of charm to her figure. Shiny diamond studs dangled from her earlobes, and her hair fell over her shoulders, light and graceful
Lisa was very satisfied with her masterpiece. She happily drove about thirty miles with Emma until they reached a venue she had booked for the reunion
By noon, they arrived, and many old classmates had already begun taking photos, excitedly reminiscing about high school
“The principal was so strict He wouldn’t allow us to wear skirts, grow our hair long, or date during school”
“Werent some classmates secretly dating back then?”

“Elizabeth? No way, she went abroad too? How could that be?”
“Can Elizabeth’s family afford her studying abroad?”
“There might be things we don’t know! – Don’t judge a book by

David has already arrived. He was just here, I think he’s inside ordering for everyone now.”
A group of seven or eight classmates gathered around a table in the open–air garden, chattering away.
Someone with sharp eyes spotted Lisa and Emma approaching and stood up to greet them:
“Is that Lisa and Emma? I can hardly recognize you two. Why are you so late? Everyone has been waiting for you.”
“Hello, old classmates, long time no see!” Lisa and Emma approached them.
“Hello everyone, long time no seer Emma greeted everyone warmly.
One student exclaimed, “You…you’re Emma? I didn’t expect you to become so beautiful!”
Another female classmate e chimed in, 1 think so too. How long has it been since we last saw Emma? She seems to always miss our gatherings. It’s rare to
see her today!”
Emma gave a demure smile, a bit bashful, “Ryan Nelson, I’ve been busy, so I didn’t have time.”
The truth was, she had been entirely focused on Luc, so how could she be willing to attend class gatherings?
Spending all day revolving around Luc, figuring out what food to brew for him, constantly caring about his health–what dietary therapy was good for his stomach issues? How did the dark circles under his eyes get so heavy? He must be overworked.
“Emma, do you have a boyfriend? If not, can i pursue you?”
Charles Lee suddenly appeared, dressed in a burgundy suit. He was handsome but had a noticeable belly that his suit couldn’t hide Holding a glass of red wine, he raised it toward Emma, his eyes full of admiration.
Another female classmate teased, “Charles, Emma is so pretty, there are probably lots of suitors around her. Aren’t you too late?”
A guy nicknamed “Little Shrimp added, “Exactly! Aren’t you afraid she’s already married?”
