Jasmine and Vanessa were half–sisters, sharing the same mother but different fathers.
Sabrina had always despised Jasmine because Jasmine was the child of her and a man she
had never loved.
When Sabrina was young, she had a passionate love affair. However, Jasmine’s
grandparents disapproved of her first love, believing him to be a bad influence, and forced
Sabrina to marry Jasmine’s father instead. Jasmine’s father was an honest and hardworking
carpenter, who was fully devoted to making ends meet for the family. After Jasmine was born,
her father fell ill. Not wanting to burden Sabrina, he chose to divorce her, hoping she would take
Jasmine along and provide her with a normal environment to grow up in. But as soon as Sabrina
signed the divorce papers, she left Jasmine to her grandparents and rushed to marry her first
love, with whom she later had Vanessa.
Sabrina cherished Vanessa deeply because Vanessa was the product of love, while Jasmine
was merely a reminder of her troubled past. Jasmine’s grandparents, frail and aging, had no
choice but to send Jasmine to live with Sabrina. Sabrina treated Jasmine with disdain, while
Vanessa regarded Jasmine as an outsider disrupting their family and taunted her constantly.
In that household, Sabrina’s first love was the only one who treated Jasmine kindly,
occasionally giving her candies. Yet his gaze toward Jasmine was strange, something young
Jasmine couldn’t understand. But as an adult, I knew exactly what that look meant.
When I entered this world, it was on the day Jasmine was born. I watched her instinctively
seek Sabrina’s care, only to be mistreated behind closed doors. I stood by helplessly and saw
Jasmine endure everything. Ultimately, Jasmine fell gravely ill but was still forced to do chores.
When she accidentally broke a cup, she was thrown out into the freezing cold. I watched as she
banged on the door, pleading to be let in, while Sabrina and Vanessa smirked from the warmth inside. I witnessed Jasmine take her last breath, calling out for her parents.
Through the system’s intervention, I became Jasmine. Before her death, Jasmine was
muttering her parents.
When I tried to bring misfortune upon Sabrina’s first love, he died in a car accident after
drinking too much. At his funeral, Sabrina and Vanessa wailed uncontrollably, but I felt nothing.
When Sabrina married Trevor, I hadn’t wanted to go with her, but the system informed me
that my target was Trevor’s biological son. Left with no choice, I clung to Sabrina and begged her not to abandon me. Sabrina, unable to reveal her cold and selfish nature to Trevor, reluctantly
took me along.
Both Vanessa and I were stepchildren in the Brown family, but Sabrina adored Vanessa,
who became the family’s cherished lady, while I remained an unwelcome outsider. Trevor knew
Sabrina years ago and deeply loved her. Because of this, Kyle, Trevor’s son, believed Sabrina was
the reason his own mother fell into depression and eventually passed away. His resentment D extended to me and Vanessa, making him perpetually cold and hostile toward us.
Over the years, Kyle grew to tolerate us, but he never warmed up to Sabrina. Despite this, I
foolishly believed his emotions for me were genuine.

In the six years we were together, Kyle and I argued endlessly because of Sabrina. I once
thought his hatred for Sabrina extended to me, let alone Sabrina’s beloved daughter Vanessa.
But when I saw Kyle abandon me on the streets abroad to take care of Vanessa, ignoring my call for help when I was harassed by thugs, it became clear.
When I fell ill, he accused me of pretending and doused me with cold water. Barely alive, I
watched him fly to Frenzinia for dinner with Vanessa.
I should have realized it sooner.
I always thought I saw the real Kyle and faced with his emotions. I thought I was special to
him.
How pitiable a woman in love could be.
