Chase and I spent our days gaming, I got him
to Grand Master 50 stars.
We were in tune with each other in life, not
just in the game.
I cooked, he washed veggies, I called, he
dropped his phone and ran over.
After food, he cleaned the dishes. Sure, there
was a dishwasher, but you still had to put the

He was helpful, which was a good sign. He
could be saved.
After ten days of gaming, I was sick of the
game, so I chose a movie night.
I chose his first award–winning movie. His
acting might have been raw, but it was the
first thing people thought of when asked
about his movies.
I had seen it ten times, and never get tired of
- it.
Chase looked like he had ants in his pants.
He would get water, go to the bathroom,
anything to avoid sitting and watching the
movie.
He was probably embarrassed of his old
acting.
The movie was halfway done when he got a
call. He looked at his phone like it was
salvation.
From my angle, I saw the name, ‘Tiffany‘.
Remembering my mission from Mrs.
Thompson, I got focused. I paused the movie.
I mouthed, “Speaker.”
Chase looked at my sandal, and turned the
speakerphone on.
“Chase, are you busy right now?” Tiffany’s
smooth voice sounded.
<
I grabbed my phone, searching what Tiffany
was up to.
Chase was about to say ‘yes‘ when I
slammed my sandal on the pillow next to me,
it flew like 20 feet.
Hearing the bang, he stuttered, “What’s up?”
I smiled. I found Tiffany doing a live show for
her fans. She was on break.
I figured out what she was planning.
Sure enough, Tiffany said, “I’m doing a live show, could you come and sing a few songs
for my fans? I would love to pay them back
for their support.”
L
That was low.
Chase was a big star, his hourly pay was way
more than her whole show. And she wanted
him to do it for free.
He had helped her out countless times.
before, always doing whatever she wanted.
He was good–looking, talented, but a total
hopeless romantic.
When she was a nobody, he was getting her
deals.
In two years, she was a top actress, thanks to
him.
But Tiffany, a smart girl, wanted fame and
money, and not to be known as Chase’s
girlfriend, so she kept him at arm’s length.
She acted like Chase was just a friend, but
then she’d call him to take advantage of his
name and connections.
Chase went along with it, not wanting
anything in return.
His manager was always close to a heart
attack. His fans were mad, and his mom had
spent a fortune on me to fix the problem.
So, being a professional, I tossed the sandal
and, in front of a stunned Chase, crushed a
glass on the table.
He did it, and I would break his legs.
